This is your library workbook. Bring this to the library to assist you with your research.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. You will research information on Medieval times in the library.

2. Make an authentic-looking Medieval newsletter. In it you are to report on events and developments that caused the end of the period in history known as the Middle Ages. You will write a minimum of 6 pieces for your newsletter. Remember this is a newsletter published in Medieval times so it has to be written as if you were there.

3. The articles will appear in the form of a newsletter; a newsletter is just a smaller version of a newspaper. Articles may combine written and artistic work and should be NEAT and LEGIBLE. Each article should be based on FACT, but you are encouraged to use your imagination.

4. Your finished work should be at least four pages in length and include at least 2 articles and 2 other formats from the list below:

5. The bulk of your newsletter should be made up of writing. You may choose to word process or print neatly.

6. A Bibliography must be printed at the end of the newsletter. Some sources of information are: Pathways, p. 140-167, textbooks in the classroom, books in the library, reliable internet sources

7. Your finished work must include:

8. In your newsletter you must discuss 6 of the following topics:

← Impact of trade, guilds

← Life in Towns

Some suggestions for items are:

- An obituary for a defeated Knight

- An editorial from a serf who disagrees with his lord

- An interview with a knight who has returned from battle

- A report on the latest cure for illness

- A feature article on the latest in knights armour

- A fashion column

- A real estate listing for a local castle

- A comic strip based on the Middle Ages

- A crossword puzzle using words from the Middle Ages

9. Evaluation
