Constructed and statistically tested a model that estimated the demand for housing in Atlanta and Macon, Georgia based upon a hypothesis questioning the impact of emissions from coal fired power plants and

correlating potential negative affects on area residential housing values. Results: Determined that SO2 and NOx emissions from local power plants are not perceived by home owners as having a negative impact

on real estate value. This study projected that home values would be negatively impacted within 2,000 meters of an area paper mill.

Collaborated with a diverse group of university administrators, faculty members, students, alumni and local business leaders in the development of a university brochure designed to help keep alumni apprised of university events. Results: This brochure has significantly contributed to increased alumni participation in university sponsored events at Life College.

Researched and authored a USEPA study on the economic damages caused by pollutants and ecological issues such as; SO2, NOx, lead, global warming, dioxin, underground storage, etc. Results: Won the USEPA Bronze Medal for Commendable Service.

Synthesized complex issues in order to advance a complete dissertation by successfully integrating input from

diverse faculty committee members ranging from ecologists and economists to statisticians and health professionals.

Result: A dissertation in Economics was successfully completed.

Wrote and simplified an incentive plan designed to improve the performance of survey interviewers. Results: The new plan significantly increased the volume of questionnaire response rate, and reduced the number of survey interviewers required thus lowering the cost of labor. This plan also won a Special Achievement Award, a Most Improved Survey Award, and promotion from GS-11 to GS-12.

Authored a procedure of composing lecture notes, problem sets and exams for graduate and undergraduate economics courses. Results: Student performance in the classroom increased significantly. The new procedure earned an award for teaching Economics from Georgia State University.

Developed an SAS program to read census data as part of a demographic chapter of a dissertation. This program also transposed the raw data into a form that could be used to generate coefficient estimates. Result: A crucial chapter of an economics dissertation was completed with greater facility and ahead of schedule.
