FACILITATION WORKSHEET FOR SMALL GROUP LEADERS

Produced by Rhema Bible Church North, based on sermon by Ps Ray McCauley, entitled:

“TRUSTING”GOD IN EVERY SEASON OF YOUR LIFE

16th September 2012

Icebreaker

If God is blessing you only in good times, How will you know it’s Him? How then should your situation be like in order for you to know that it’s Him. [Allow one minute feedback per person]

Read: Ecclesiastes 3:11

Question: Can you explain what this part of the verse means: “Also He has put eternity in their hearts; except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end”. [Allow for feedback]

Answer: It means that God has given us the liberty to explore or know about everything within our existence – yet we will always fall short, because it is only Him who knows everything from beginning to end.

Question: Are you satisfied with all that you know about your existence [or purpose] so far – and what are you doing to know more? [Allow for feedback]

Read: Isaiah 26:3

Question: Is there anything like “PERFECT PEACE”? How can one find it? [Allow for feedback]

Answer: According to the word, it is possible to experience “PERFECT PEACE”, if only one can set his/her mind on God and His word on a regular basis [as a life style].

Question: What is it that usually causes one to lose the peace of God? [Allow for feedback]

Read: John 2:25

Question: Can you explain what this verse is telling us about MAN? “and [Jesus] had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man”. [Allow for feedback]

Answer: This verse is telling us that we should never put our trust in man.

Question: Why should people not “trust” you? [Allow for feedback]

Read: Philippians 4:6

Question: This verse says: “Be anxious for nothing”. Is it possible not to be anxious for anything? If it is, how is it possible? [Allow for feedback]

Answer: True enough, it is not so easy not to be anxious for anything; but with prayer and supplication [earnest request] one may bring his/her anxieties before the Lord – and He will be there to carry you.

Question: What is it that usually makes you anxious? [Allow for feedback]

Practical

Let us pray that we would not be anxious and fearful – so that we can stay peaceful, joyful and fulfilled without even waiting for things [first] to come out right.
