Our commitment is to provide you and your family with the best care possible and assist you in your time of crisis. Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital (ECBH) understands that you and your provider have agreed that inpatient treatment is the most appropriate level care for you at this time. The purpose of this guide is to assist you with preparing for your admission to our facility.What to expect upon arrival to the facility:Upon arrival to our facility, you will be greeted by one of the intake staff members. The staff member will request your name and provide you with registration forms to fill out that are needed in order to begin your intake assessment. The staff will also request to make a copy of your ID card and any insurance cards for insurance verification purposes. The staff will request to secure your belongings. We recommend that you leave all valuables at home. However, if you must have your valuables here at ECBH during your hospitalization, those items will be inventoried in front of you and secured in the hospital safe during the admission process. Again, it is highly recommended that you leave valuables at home (purse, wallet, keys, money, credit/debit cards, etc.) because you will not have access to them during your stay. Your other belongings, such as clothing, medications, and other personal items, will be inventoried at a later time. Upon completion of your registration forms, the intake staff will begin your assessment. This process consists of gathering information regarding your symptoms, medical history, and current medications. After completion of your assessment, admission orders will be obtained from the admitting physician and then you will be requested to sign various consent forms allowing ECBH to provide treatment. A patient handbook will also be provided to you at this time. The handbook will give you additional details in regards to what to expect during your treatment, program information, grievance procedures, etc.Phone Calls and VisitorsUpon arrival to the facility, our staff will go over your phone call and visitor schedule.
