Promoting SMC in China

2016 IEEE International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems

BACKGROUND

The IEEE International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems (VSS) series started in 1990 and has become the premier conference in Variable Structure and Sliding Mode Control (VSSMC) in the world. This conference series have been held successfully in many countries except China.

Over the last two decades, China has become a major contributor to VSSMC research. The fast growth of Chinese economy will see greater investment in research and development from government and industry and this will result in further growth of VSSMC research. It would be timely that a future VSS conference be held in China to enhance the growth.
