MORRIS BANK NAMED TO SNL FINANCIAL TOP 100 BEST PERFORMING COMMUNITY BANKS

MORRIS BANK RANKED #81 ON NATIONAL LIST OF COMMUNITY BANKS

Dublin, GA ? April, 2015 ? Dublin-based Morris Bank was named to the SNL Financial Top 100 Best Performing Community Banks in the United States. Morris Bank ranked #81 out of nearly 4,000 banks eligible for the recognition.

"It was a very good year by any standards. Morris Bank has a strong executive team, an engaged board of directors, and talented employees that make banking easy for our customers," said President and CEO Spence Mullis. He added, "The recipe has served us well since 1954, and we are proud to be ranked one of the top community banks in the country."

For this category, SNL Financial considered community banks with assets between $500 million and $5 billion and with 60 or fewer offices. Additionally, at least one-third of the bank's balance sheets must be composed of loans, less than half of which can be attributable to credit card lending. Banks must be well-capitalized based on 2014 regulatory standards, and no more than half of revenue can come from non-traditional banking activities. This year nearly 4,000 institutions met all requirements to be ranked.

Rankings were based on a composite score of key financial performance metrics for the 12-month period ending December 31, 2014. Six metrics included return on average tangible assets before tax, net charge-off ratios, adjusted Texas ratio, efficiency ratio, net interest margin and loan growth.

SNL Financial recognized the 2014 best performing banks at the fourth annual Community Bankers Conference in April. The conference featured community bankers and advisors from across the country sharing operational and financial strategy best practices. Executive Vice President Susan Brandon represented Morris Bank at the awards ceremony.
