Marketing Your Location

Marketing Your Location

The difference in commute times from one side of town versus another side can influence your decision when applying for job openings. Be more specific on the location within the city as well as added attractions and benefits your location offers. Free parking, especially in Seattle, is definitely an attractive benefit!

Now think a little broader in terms of your city and surrounding area. What are some of your community’s unique entertainment, scenic, recreational and area attractions that you can showcase to help attract top candidates to apply for your position? For example, do you have great weather and clean air? Do you have a low cost of living? Are you located close to attractive major metropolitan areas? Are you in an environmentally conscious region? Do you have low local tax rates or low crime rates? Do you offer short commute times and multiple transportation options? Has your community received special recognition? For example, Olympia was featured in the 2006 edition of 50 Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family, and featured in the 2005 list of Top 50 Best Places to Live.

Include the website address for your local Chamber of Commerce or other local websites for more information. Here are some examples of area attractions you can use in marketing your own unique location features.
