Our variety of after school clubs are very popular and we are happy to be able to offer a wide range of activities that cater for different interests. HOP is our ongoing facility for younger pupils who wish to stay to 3.00pm to wait on an older sibling so only one pick up is required. However, pupils don’t need an older sibling to stay for this club – everyone is welcome! There is a different focus each day in HOP and children have a snack. HOP is also ?1.50 per day. We appreciate all club money coming in a labelled envelope and paid to the class teacher (not the office) to ensure efficient money management in school. Thank you. In the event that a club is over-subscribed, the club will run again in the next term so everyone gets to take part. In the event, there aren’t enough numbers to run a club, it will be withdrawn. Please discuss with your child the activities he/she would like to participate in. We would encourage all children to avail of these clubs as they are important for developing other skills and values eg. teamwork, cooperation etc. Please indicate by ticking which activity or activities your child would like to take part in and return to the class teacher by Friday 25th October. Should a club have to be cancelled at short notice (this rarely happens), you’ll be notified on seesaw. Sports Football This club will continue to be taken by our coach, Daniel Carlisle who was very popular last year. Children have already signed up to a 6 week block and then further details will follow about resigning up for another block if desired.Dance This club will be taken by a coach named Lucy who is a qualified dance instructor. She will provide a range of styles in dance – tap, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, Zumba etc. The price for 6 lessons is ?30 and forms are attached to this information for signing up. Lucy is part of Carlisle Coaching (Daniel’s football) and promises to be active, fun and something different for our pupils. HockeyThis club will be taken by Mrs Crooks, our qualified hockey coach. The P4 – 7 children have enjoyed their sessions with Kathryn on Tuesdays and requested this as an after-school club. Pupils should bring sticks and shin guards. Other ClubsChristmas Craft ClubThis activity is taken by a member of staff and will allow children the opportunity to develop their imagination through various Christmas theme creative activities. Christmas Cookery Club This club is taken by a member of staff and will involve the children taking part in many wonderful Christmas themed activities e.g. gingerbread men, Christmas cookies etc! Transfer ClubTransfer Club is taken by Mrs McIvor for two weeks until the transfer is over. MusicThis club is also taken by Mrs McIvor and will involve children playing and exploring many musical instruments and getting creative in music and song. This club begins on 21st November.Animation Club Miss Bradford will lead this club alongside a couple of our digital leaders. The child requested this club and they will explore animation through apps such as Toontastic, Stop Motion, Flippaclip and Zingstudio. HOP HOP continues daily at 2.00pm for P1 – 3 children and each day will have a different focus very similar to the senior clubs. The children currently attending HOP helped choose the focus they’d like for this term. We are always really interested in our pupil views and so along with school council advising on senior clubs, we have included their choices for this term. Christmas craft will be carried out in same manner as senior club where the children will participate in crafts with Christmas themes. Cookery will also be Christmas themed and the Minecraft club will allow the children to participate in a different challenge weekly. Tabletop activities will be a mixture of board games, colouring table top toys amongst other things and the movie club on Friday will always be showing a U rated movie along with some popcorn! Football and Dance is also available for P1 -3 children. ................
