My Math Job of the Future

We all know that math is awesome, but did you know that 75% of the top paying jobs involve math! Your job is to decide on your math job of the future. You can be anything you want, as long as it is related to math.

Some examples are:

Meteorologist Math teacher Engineer

Doctor Physicist Archeologist

Researcher Astronaut Pilot

Rocket Scientist Computer Programmer Graphic Designer

The list goes on and on…

You may pick one from this list or you may decide on your own original math job. You May Not tell me that your job of the future does not involve math and you can’t do this assignment!

Once you have chosen a job you are to provide the class with the following information:

Name of your job

How much $ your job makes (median pay)

Job description (be creative and specific, give lots of details)

Benefits

To go along with the description you will give the class, please make a visual aid. This can be a poster, a power point presentation, you could dress up as your occupation, be creative here.

Finally, you will write a 2 page, typed paper (1” margins/ 12 pt times new roman font) that contains the following information:

A description of your job

The salary and benefits of your job

How your job uses math (this is the biggest part of your paper!)

We will talk in class about good writing, be sure to use what you know about being a good writer. A good website to use to get information about your job is .
