However, they did not found one definition of leadership that explain the meaning of leadership in all positions. According to Fleishman (1991) says “In the past 60 years, as many as 65 different classification system have been developed to define the dimensions of leadership.” Each researcher come up with his/her own definition of leadership and finally they believed they cannot come up with one common definition. Many people think leadership only in job, but real leadership is everywhere school, university, companies, and it might be in your home. In my view leadership occur when a person tried to effect on people to attain a shared purpose. Every student need be a leader in school or anywhere in life. However, not all of us can be leaders. Leaders must have some specific trait, skills, and have to be transformational leaders. Being leader in school environment is similar to leader in work environment, it true they are different environments. However, they have the same idea which is to influence people to achieve common goal. People can predict if a person would be a leader in future or not, from child hood. When a student need to be a leader he/she must have the ability to control followers or in another word, to be able to interact with all the follower. Being a leader is not easy because leader have to take responsibility of the follower and the institution. For example, when I was in middle school one of my teacher was always late, in one day he asked to be a leader of class until he came. At the begging, I was excited and I though it is easy to control the student. However, day after day I found it is a big responsibility, not as I though. It was great experience because I learned that being a leader it not that easy and it need a lot of work.Since the begging of 20th century, researchers tried to come up with traits that show the different between leaders and followers. Even though, until today research did not found specific traits the fit in all position, which mean that being leader in one potions might require specific traits, in another position it required different traits. However, there are common traits that are central of leadership. Being a leader involves some traits that are required to be an effective leader such as: intelligence, self-confidence, integrity, sociability.Firstly, intelligence which is the most important trait for leaders. Intelligence which having verbal ability, perceptual ability, and reasoning appears. Leaders should not have very different range of intelligence quotient (I.Q) than their followers, because it might happen misunderstanding. I believe there is not someone intelligence and someone unintelligence, people have different range of IQ. Intelligence show the different between leaders and followers. Secondly, self-confidence which also on of trait that leaders should have. Self-confidence, the ability to be certain about one's competencies and skills. The most important benefit of leaders, is to influence others and self-confidence make leaders believe they can influence people. Self-confidence include self-esteem and self-assurance. If someone did not have self-confidence how could other accept from him/her. Also, who would be effected by someone did not respect him/her self. Thirdly, integrity one of most important trait for successful leaders. Integrity which is being honest and trusted. Leaders must be honest and trusted, otherwise, followers would not believe or influenced by them. For example, when a leader known as unreliable and he/she was trying to influence a group of follower, they would not believe because he/she is not honest.Leaders who are integrity give followers inspiration of self-reliance, because they trust the leader and believe what he/she ask to do them is correct. Integrity leaders have high value of loyalty and you can depend on them. Being integrity is required to be a great leader.Finally, being sociable is very important for leaders. Sociability, known as the ability to seek out with others such as social relationship with other. Leaders who are social they are mostly friendly and outgoing. For example, I was working in hospital in the summer and in one day, when I was going to home I saw my leader and I told him see you tomorrow, he did not answer, I though he did not hear me. The day after I asked one of employee about him, he told that leader never talk to anyone and do not like to interact with people. I was surprised how he became a leader and do not like to make relationship with others. Being sociable is essential for all leaders.Being intelligence, self-confidence, integrity and sociable are traits that are required for all leader. These traits could not be learned, they are innate. Leaders who have these traits are mostly successful in their job. These traits known as innate qualities, which people born with it unlike the skills which leaders can learn it.There are some skills for that are required for leaders. The skills that leaders must have, they can be learned, and when they have it they can develop it. Researchers have been searching for a long time looking for specific skills that leaders should have to become successful which are: technical skills, human skills, and conceptual skills. Each one of these skills is linked with some of the traits. At first, technical skills which described as the knowledge and mastery about a specific type of work or in another word, the ability to work with things. Which involves skills in a specific area, analytical ability, and the ability to use specific tools. Having technical skill is very essential. For example, my major is finance which required someone who is ease with technology, which is very essential because we always use technology. Having technical skills is required in middle management and supervisor management. Also, it required for top management but with low level. At second, human skill which the knowledge and the ability to interact with people. Human skill required for all leaders. Human skills help leaders to make environment for employee so they feel they are on the plan and become comfortable. For example, having leader do not have the ability to work with people, would not have any benefit. I believe if the leader does not know how to work with people, the leader would not influence followers. Human skill is required for all level of an organization: top management, middle management, and supervisory management.At third, conceptual skill which described as the capability to work with new ideas and concepts. Conceptual skills include the ability to make vision or plan for the company. Having conceptual skills help followers to understand the ideas easily. For example, when a leaders need produce a new product for the company, the leader must have conceptual skills to create plan that would be successful. Conceptual skill is very important skill for leaders who are in top management and middle management. There are three component of the skills model which are important that we always hear about these skills in school. The three component model are: competencies, induvial attributes, and leadership outcomes. Each one of these component have some branches. Firstly, competencies which is the basic of effective performance. It is including two branches that are important. The first branch, is problem solving skills, which is ability to solve unusual problem. I believe it is the most important skills that every leader should have. Second branch, social judgment skills, which known as the ability to understand people. For example, in one day I had a physics lab class and we were trying to connect electrical circuit. Moreover, we had a difficulty to connect it, then each one start to solve it alone, after 10 min none of us solve it, because none can understand the other. second component, is individual attributes which include three branches: general cognitive ability, crystallized cognitive ability, and motivation. General cognitive, is very similar to intelligence, which includes reasoning skills, inspiration and memory skills. It is very important in our daily life, because sometimes we need to remember things, also we always have discussion and we need reasoning skills and remembering. Second branch is crystallized cognitive ability, which is the logical ability that we learn it over the time. It is acquired by experience. The third branch is motivation, which is important for leaders and followers. Sometimes I had a difficulty with some classes, and when I fell that I will give up, I start motivate myself. Even in job the leaders have to motivate the followers. Finally, leadership outcome which is include two branches: performance and carrier experience. First branch, performance which is the how well does the leader has done in job. Second branch career experiences, which has a huge impact on person skills, because the leader has face unusual problem, have experience to influence followers. The final modern of leadership is transformational approach. Transformational approach is the ability to change people. Which is very important approach, because when leader try to change followers, the leader trying to influence them which is the way to achieve goal. Transformational leaders assessing follower with three branches which are motivation, satisfying, and treating. Motivations which is the ability to inspire follower to achieve something. For example, when someone made a great job, and his leader sent thanks letter or give reward. Satisfy all followers need, which mean make follower know that the leader listens to their needs. Treating them as full human being, which mean trait each follower equally.Being transformational leaders is very important approach, because it transfers people.In conclusion, leaders should have some traits, skills and being transformational to became an effective. Many researchers try to define one definition of leadership that fit in all positions. However, leadership have many dimensions, also researchers agree they could not have one definition of leadership. Being leader mean effect on followers to achieve a common purpose. These traits and skills show the different between leaders and nonreaders. The different between traits and skills, that traits could not be learned unlike skills that we acquire over time. I believe not everyone can become leader because the traits and skills that are required to be a leader not all of us have it.
