Meeting called to order at 7:04Motion to approve February’s minutes: Fran and Gina approved Early Bird Registration is open and ends May 5th. Regular registration starts May 6th with a cut off date of 6/30Plan is for one team for 12U. As of today, 25 players are registered with 30 as the tentative cut off number before starting the waiting list. 48 players registered is the number to potentially split to 2 teams.The Lineman camp (Big Uglies for grades 5-8) is coming up. It’s a 4-5 hour camp for $50. Information on website.Tonight we will be discussing and voting on Head Coaches.Cheer updates: There is a coaching clinic planned for April 14th.-Kim S is meeting with Varsity in < 2 weeks to look into new gear for our cheerleaders. -We are looking into putting up more cheer information on our website regarding information about the season, rules, etc. Kim S and Jen I to possibly write something up.Northern Football updates: -Scholastics is still looking for a representative-Torrington and Newtown are not joining Pop Warner- Rule changes coming with D3 National Recognition. Ex. Play clock changes. 10U and under will no longer be in a 3 point stance. According to the safety review board the 3 point stance is deemed dangerous We are looking for further clarification. 8U will have no kickoffs or punts. 9-11 will have no kickoffs. We need clarification if this will affect the 12U teams.-8U is offering a 7 on 7 rookie league (half field)-Possibly offering a crossover with Southern Pop Warner-There will be no more playing with a team of 15 kids as a forfeit. The refs won’t do it.-Refs will be kept the same this year. It is only a 1 year contract. We did request more review time with refs at a game.-Southern Pop Warner added New London and lost Newington.-The League Championship will be hosted by New Milford at NMHS on November 2nd or 3rd. Oxford HS is the back up if NM is unable to host at the high school.-Southern PW championship will be held in New Haven on Nov. 9th or 10th.-Regional Championship will be held in Worcester MA on November 23rd or 24th.Registration updates from Gina:-Flag (1)-8U (0)-10U (3)-12U (25)-14U (3) Low numbers are anticipated-If a child comes from another town to play for Brookfield, we need to be their next closest town. Otherwise we need a waiver signed by their organization.-Cheerleaders (3)Scholastics invites have gone out for the banquet at Gillette Stadium in April on the 6th and 7th.BPW Scholarship information is due by May and we will vote at the May meeting for the recipient. Fundraiser for Glow Bowling is May 11th from 8:30-10:30. There will be 6 people to a lane. We need to get a flyer made and advertise. Plan is to have a link available to pre-pay ahead of time.Golf tournament is 9/7Meeting adjourned at 7:36. ................
