Year 7 geography Overview Autumn Term – During the first term students will be introduced with the following topics: Climate, Rivers and Settlement. Different types of climate will be discussed with the focus on Britain’s climate. Then students will be taught different aspects of river actions such as flooding, forming different landforms… The last topic in the winter term is Settlement; how to choose the right site; the problem of traffic in urban areas and building a by-pass.Spring Term – In the spring term the focus is on Natural hazards, Farming and Car industry. Students will be taught different types of natural disasters, their causes and the consequences. Then the focus will move on different types of farming and the farming in Britain will be discussed in detail. The last topic of the term will deal with Car industry and the focus is on the Toyota Car Company.Summer Term – During the summer term the following topics will be covered: Resources and the Environment, Population and World Issues. Students will be taught the importance of preserving resources and taking care of the environment. Then world population will be discussed and the reasons why people are unevenly spread around the world. The last topic deals with World issues such as Global warming, Poverty, Malnutrition. ................
