TO: MRCA Top Thirty Contestants July 7, 2014

SUBJECT: MRCA Finals Information

Dear ________________________

You are currently in position_________________ in the _____________________________event. This years MRCA Finals Rodeo will be held August 7,8,9, 2014 at the State Fair Arena in conjunction with the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, MO. The Top 15 contestants in each of the standard events will be eligible to compete. The Added Money at this Finals Rodeo will be at least $1,500.00 The official determination will be decided by the time of call in! Payoff will be posted at the Finals.

Entering

The fee due to the MRCA office is $200.00 per qualified event plus a Futurity Fee per event. This includes a $195.00 entry fee and $5.00 office charge. Futurity Fees may have been previously paid, if not previously paid it is an additional $100 per event. Entry fees, ballots, and contestant questionnaires must be returned to the MRCA office no later than Friday, JULY 25, 2014. This does not mean postmarked by July 25, it means that all fees and information must be received by July 25, 2014 or they will not be accepted. If you mail your fees at a late date, contact the MRCA office before July 25 to be sure they have been received. You may need to make further arrangements to insure your entry is received without delay. NO EXCEPTIONS! If you are in the 16 to 30 positions, it is very important that you send in your entry fees and meet all of the requirements; because if someone in the Top Fifteen decides not to attend, you may be eligible. If you know of any MRCA member who may win some money in July that could possibly move them up in the standings, have them contact the office to receive the finals information or download from the MRCA Website. Don’t wait for the office to make contact, as results may arrive in the office making it too late! If you do not get to compete, your entry fees will be promptly returned to you or check voided. Emergency Phone Number for the finals is 314-608-3557. If anyone is on the suspended list, owes a fine, any funds or a no-show, etc., this will be required to be taken care of or they will not be eligible to compete at the Finals. If you feel there is a discrepancy in your winnings…please don’t hesitate to contact the office before the finals to double-check them. If you wait until we get to the finals we don’t have the rodeo results on sight to check.

Call-In

Books Open for official MRCA Finals call in on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 314-608-3557. (Call Waiting is on this phone line, so be patient when attempting to enter and keep this in mind.) Books open from 9am to 2 pm and you MUST call during this time to ENTER THE MRCA FINALS. (Please notify the MRCA office due to injury or other commitment if you do not plan to compete in the finals.) If you are bordering towards the top 15 and think you possibly could have moved up, you need to call in to enter. If someone in the Top Fifteen decides not to compete, or fails to meet all of the requirements, the spots will be filled with the next person in line who has successfully met all the requirements, beginning with those in the 16th position or below. PLEASE call as positions change frequently during July! Call in is a requirement to attend the MRCA Finals.

Finals Positions

If necessary, you may call Monday, July 28 from 6pm-8 pm to check your Finals Positions at 314-608-3557. Finals contestants will be posted on the website as soon as possible when all are confirmed.

Drawing Out

You may Draw Out of the Finals without penalty anytime after entering until 24 hours after books close. Drawing out after this period you will forfeit your Finals Entry Fees to the MRCA General Fund. The MRCA will then contact the next qualified contestant to fill the performances for the event. Any contestant who turns out stock at the finals with a doctors or vet release shall be fined, declared ineligible, or both if evidence shows he competed in another rodeo within 72 hours after the performances. All doctors releases must be dated and turned in to the MRCA within 10 days of the finals. Any release dated prior to entry may not be used to draw out of the finals. If a contestant does not compete in all 3 performances, on all three head of stock with the exception of an official release, contestant may be subject to a fine and/or forfeiture of any winnings and will forfeit eligibility to all year end awards. A contestant must compete on every head of stock drawn for him in an event to place in the average. Fines at the finals are double the normal fine rate for any offense.

Please enter the Finals Grounds through the Northwest Gate (Gate 8) on the backside of the Fairgrounds. You will proceed ahead to the Southeast Gate 10 (State Fair Toyota Arena), which is the entrance to the Rodeo Grounds. You and your “Buddy” will receive your armband, if pre-purchased (which you must wear from the first performance to the final performance) when you enter this gate. Each person in the Pit Area is required to sign a waiver for the Fair & MRCA. This entrance will be open at limited times. You may enter gate 6, which is open 24 hours. Please cooperate with fair officials on this issue. Security will be tight and tickets will be checked closely. Parking in the Pit Area will be limited to ONE vehicle per contestant. No Exceptions! Parking passes will be issued to you at the time you check in. NO OTHER VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PIT. Additional vehicle parking available across the street in the Free Fair Parking. Pickup trucks pulling trailer count as one vehicle, trucks pulling campers count as one vehicle. One camping unit per contestant. Parking spots will be assigned by Pit Personnel. Individual vehicle parking will be strictly enforced. No parking in the Pit Area will be allowed prior to Wednesday, August 7th, vehicles will be subject to towing and animals subject to impoundment. If you plan to plug into the Fairgrounds electric power, you are required to use an RV style plug in. NO RV’s will be allowed to stay on the rodeo grounds. If you plan to stay on Saturday night, you need to move to the Free Fair Parking west of the arena. You need to be out of the pit area by Saturday midnight. Performance Times

Performances begin promptly at 7 pm each night. The opening ceremonies will start at 6:45 pm. Contestants will be required to ride in the Grand Entry each night.

We will run each event from the number fifteen position to the number one position each performance. Barrel Racing positions will be posted. Positions will change if you move up or down in money won in the average. Positions and draw will be posted at the rodeo office daily.

Immediately following the final performance of the rodeo, we will have the 2014 Awards Ceremony to present all of the Finals Awards and crown the 2014 Year-End Champions. This will take place in the State Fair Arena. Please be present to accept your awards, the sponsors expect and deserve that courtesy. The top-earning Rookies should be present.

We also ask that all who are able to participate, be present for the Exceptional Rodeo. It is a great thrill for those involved in this program. This takes just a short amount of your time on Friday at 10 am at the Mathewson Exhibition Center and makes a lasting impression to those who admire you. Come and enjoy lunch with the participants.

Ground Rules

There will be NO ALCOHOL in the arena, behind the Bucking Chutes, or behind the Roping Chutes at any time. Alcohol needs to be kept in the trailer area or in the hospitality tent area. Anyone caught with alcohol in restricted areas will be subject to a minimum $25.00 fine for each offense. This will be in effect 1 hour before each performance until the completion of the performance.

There will be NO Circling of your horses in the arena or you will be subject to a fine! All persons with horses on the grounds will need a current, negative coggins test paper on your horses. You may want to have health papers as well, just as a precaution. Please provide shade for your livestock. Timed event contestants need to be in the arena and ready to compete when the contestant before you rides out! Rough stock contestants need to be getting ready when the bull or horse before you leaves the chute. FINES may apply for contestants not ready to perform in a timely matter when called upon. NO ONE besides contestants, contractors, and personnel will be allowed behind the bucking chutes! We want this rodeo to run as smooth as possible. It is a showcase of the best contestants and stock in each event. Listen to your arena directors and they will assist you in any way possible. We are on a strict time schedule!

Payoff checks are available each night after the performances are complete. Checks on Saturday will be ready after the awards ceremony is complete.
