The book offers MANY “Other Myths to Explore” on many topics (IQ, intelligence, social animals) after each chapter. Should your group decide on one, have it approved and conduct research accordingly.Choose & read up on infoUse “50 Great Myths About Popular Psychology” to gain background information on your myth. Many resources will be referenced; you should take notes on these and plan to use them for your own. Survey/interviewYou must either conduct a survey of a sample population or interview a relevant person on your topic. Your survey would need to be random, large and a population of your choice. Questions need to focus on the myth and what is common knowledge of this idea in pop culture. Use this data as anecdotal, interesting, data and not as part of your claim. Counter ArgumentYou must research a counter argument to the myth that you are busting. This may be challenging and require extensive research in less than credible sites, but highlight the stupidity of pop culture. Research & Collection of EvidenceEvidence will be used in your written response and your presentation. You must research evidence that proves your claim about the myth of your choice. This will include research and information from journals of psychology. You must include at least four pieces of evidence (preferred 1 is research based) to prove your claim is a myth. Written responseYou will complete a written response presenting the evidence that supports your claim of accepting or rejecting the myth you chose. Analysis is vital to this process so evidence will need to be narrow enough to support your claim but broad enough to prove their credibility. Presentation posterYou must complete a poster (to be hung in the hallway) that explains the myth and all research and information that proves why it is in fact a myth. ................
