Welcome to Eden’s Glory. As we begin the process of getting to know you and making the decision about if Eden’s Glory will be a good fit, we welcome you. We believe that this time is a unique moment in life, a time to look forward, dream big and find grace and healing through Jesus Christ our Lord. We have been praying for you for a long time, long before we knew your name or your story. And we will continue to be praying as we walk through these next months and years together. We are so humbled that you have allowed us to begin this process with you and are so excited to see what God has planned for you. You are precious in His eyes and He knows what you have been through. We know this decision was not an easy one and the road is going to be difficult as you travel through steps of healing and restoration but we are going to be there every step of the way. God wants to SET YOU FREE and nothing is impossible with Him!!Eden’s Glory is a program prayerfully designed to help you find restoration and freedom in all areas: physically, mentally, spiritually and relationally. During the admission process to Eden’s Glory, we will walk through the following expectations and plans with you to help you understand the process. But we wanted you to have a chance to review these beforehand to help you make your decision. The expectations of the program are designed to assist you in establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries in your life. Among the following guidelines, we want each of you to be a part of the process in developing a community of healing and restoration at Eden’s Glory. Our goal is that each of you will work together to create a home that you are comfortable in, and respects all of your individual needs. Living in community with others will require your kindness and patience in order for our home to be a place of healing. PROGRAM PHASESWhile you are living at Eden’s Glory, it is expected that you work through each phase of the program, one step at a time. There will be moments when you will want to jump ahead in the process but we ask for your patience, as we believe that each step is necessary for you to be successful. The following outlines a basic plan for each phase. We realize that each person is unique in her needs and in her progress so we will work as a team to develop a plan best suited for you to help you progress toward graduation. Phase 1 (Days 1-3): Moving In: The first few days of a your stay at Eden’s Glory will be mainly focused on helping you get settled. You can expect the following to happen within the first few days:Individual therapy sessionTime spent reviewing the daily schedule and group expectationsTime spent getting to know the other women and the staffScheduling an appointment with a doctor to take care of any medical needsPhase 2 (Month 1): Assessment period:This first month of the program will be focused on working with you to start on your individual plan and expectations for your time at Eden’s Glory as well as beyond graduation. You can also expect to begin participating in daily classes and activities with the other women such as the following: Group mealsDaily group check-inWeekly individual therapyWeekly Bible studyHelping with household choresPhase 3: (Months 1-12): Restoration PhaseThe first year of the program will focus on working through your past experiences while beginning to develop new life skills. You can expect to participate in the following on a regular basis:Weekly individual therapyDaily group check-inLife skill classes such as healthy relationships, fitness, nutrition, hygiene, communication, healthy boundaries, self-identityDaily Bible studiesPart time work within the programOur hope is that these activities will grow your relationship with God, give you skills for life, provide you with good friends, and help you to overcome pain from your past. Phase 4 (Year 2: Months 1-6): Job and Education Training:This fourth phase will be mainly focused on working on job skills and education and developing a plan for lifelong success that include your areas of interest, strengths and passion. You can expect to participate in the following on a regular basis:Ongoing individual and group check-ins Ongoing spiritual developmentOngoing life skill classesJob training both at Eden’s Glory and in the communityEducation classes (this could be either GED if necessary or college courses in the community)Internships in the communityPhase 5 (Year 2: Months 6-12): Transitioning Out:This fifth phase of the program will be primarily focused on preparing you to transition out of the program successfully. The focus of this phase will be establishing a plan for graduation from the program and beginning the process of carrying out that plan. Possibilities in this phase could look like any of the following: Enrolling in a 2-4 year universityPart-time work in the communityOngoing participation in previous classes, therapy and group activitiesBeginning the process of looking for long-term sustainable employment and housingPhase 6 (ongoing post graduation) Aftercare:The sixth phase will be ongoing process of communication after you graduate from the program. This will be dependent on your needs and desires but we would like to stay in touch with you, checking in with you each month through phone calls, visits, letters etc. and providing ongoing support and encouragement. We will also welcome you back several times a year for alumni luncheons or parties to celebrate your success. PROGRAM EXPECTATIONSBecause we want to promote an environment of safety, healing and respect for each resident, staff and others involved, we ask you to abide by the following expectations during your time at Eden’s Glory. AdmissionUpon admission, each individual must submit their possessions for inspection to ensure safety for all.Any prohibited items will be confiscated and disposed of: this includes any illicit drugs, alcohol or weaponsAn inspection may be conducted at any time that there is reasonable cause to suspect that contraband, drugs, or drug paraphernalia, may be present either on the person or in the room assigned to that personAny complaints or concerns can be submitted confidentially to the program director either in writing or in person.Spiritual LifeEden’s Glory is a Faith-Based program, as we believe that true healing can only happen by God’s power. We realize that not everyone is at this place so we don’t require you to hold the same beliefs but want you to understand that while you are here, we will be sharing our beliefs with you and encourage you to explore what this means for you and your life. GrowthDuring your stay here at Eden’s Glory, you will be required to show progressive growth and this will be evaluated each month with your team.Growth constitutes participation in work assignments, classes, counseling, following the expectations and engaging in other activities established by the staffGrowth is measured by attaining personal goals, developing and maintaining healthy boundaries and life skills.ConfidentialityEach person who comes to Eden’s Glory is required to sign a confidentiality form, agreeing to maintain the privacy of the location of Eden’s Glory and the residents. This includes staff and volunteers and so we expect each resident to abide by this as well. This includes but is not limited to: not sharing the address or general location of Eden’s Glory, not allowing visitors to the home unless pre-approved, turning off the GPS device on any electronic devices, not taking pictures unless pre-approved, and maintain privacy upon dismissal or graduation from the programWe commit to maintaining the privacy of your story and identity and ask that you also respect the privacy of other residents. Each resident is required to commit to not sharing confidential information unless approved by the individuals themselves. Phone Calls Because safety and healing is the number one priority of this program, cell phones are not allowed in the program for the first year and only after approved by house staff, therapist and director. Only one initial phone call to notify family of admission (if needed) is allowed within the first phase of the programPhone calls from the house phone will be allowed when not engaged in classes or other required activities and if this becomes a threat to your health or the health and well-being of the other residents, this may be restricted or supervised. You are asked to keep your phone calls to a reasonable amount of time and cut your phone calls short if another resident has an important, timely call to make. Incoming calls will be taken as messages for each individual to return calls during the designated time unless it is an emergency and is approved. (An emergency is defined as a death, life-threatening circumstance or illness in the family, etc.)VisitsVisits are not allowed during the first two phases of the program After the second phase, visits will be allowed on a weekly basis at the pre-approval of staff, no exceptions. Visits are not to be scheduled during class time or other previously organized events. Staff reserves the right to restrict or reduce visits if deemed harmful for your well-being or the well-being of the program. This decision will be made after a team meeting that includes the resident, therapist, house manager and program director. No boyfriends or fiancés will be allowed to visit unless there are children involvedVisits will be restricted for two weeks if you are on restrictionAll visits will take place in a public space to avoid exposure of the location of Eden’s Glory. All gifts, bags, money etc. must be dropped of at the main office for inspection. Staff has the right to refuse any gifts deemed unhelpful in the healing process. All visits with family, friends or mentors must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and approved by staff. You are not to stay the night away from Eden’s Glory and if you fail to return after a visit, it will be assumed that you have relapsed and you will have to go through the process of readmission. MailLetter writing is permitted and encouraged Staff reserve the right to inspect packages and mail as they are being opened by the addressee for security purposesStaff reserve the right to restrict communication (via mail, phone or visit) with specified individuals deemed unhelpful in the restoration processEach individual will be allowed to send out two letters per week within the U.S. free of cost. Any additional mail will be at your expense. All Incoming Mail needs to be addressed as follows:(Your Name)PO Box 164Maryville Il, 62062Illegal ActivityIllegal activity will not be tolerated and will result in restrictions or possible expulsion from the programDrugsYou are not allowed to have any of the following items in your possession or in your room: alcohol, any illicit substance or paraphernalia as well medication not prescribed to you. Smoking is only allowed outside the house and cigarette butts must be disposed of properly. Smoking is not allowed in the any of the buildings on campus at Eden’s Glory or any vehicles owned by staff or volunteers, no exceptions. Contact is also restricted with any individual under the influence or in possession of the previous mentioned drugsWhile in the program you will be required to submit to random drug tests and room searchesViolenceViolence, abuse or threats of violence or verbal abuse are not allowed at any time and will result in restrictionsThis includes swearing, threats, name-calling, or threatening tone of voice towards staff or other residentsWeaponsNo weapons of any kind will be allowed during the duration of the programThis includes firearms, knives, razor blades, or any other object that may be used as a weaponRelationshipsThere is to be no fraternization between two individuals for the purpose of establishing a romantic relationship. This includes flirting, dating, letter writing, or inappropriate conversationsThis includes people within the program, staff or outside of the programPetsPets are not allowed during your time at Eden’s GloryLaundryLaundry will be done on a weekly basis on your assigned dayDress CodeClothing must be modest. This restricts any clothing that is revealing, low-cut, spaghetti strap tops, halter-tops or bare midriff topsShorts, skirts and dresses may not be shorter than 5”-6” above the knee.Tattoos that are offensive or vulgar in nature must be covered up. No new tattoos will be allowed while in the programPersonal PossessionsEach individual is allowed to bring some of her own personal possessions but staff have the right to refuse certain items that are not allowed while at the facilityThese include but are not limited to the following: all electronic devices (cell phones, I-Pods, MP3 players, TV’s, etc.) or any other item that would be a distraction while in the programAny prohibited items will be locked away until discharge from the programResidents are not allowed to lend or borrow money from each other, staff, mentors or other community membersResidents are not allowed to use someone else’s personal items unless approved by the ownerResidents are not allowed to exchange or sell personal items, belongings, or services to each otherClothes, toiletries and other necessary items will be purchased and provided for you during your time at Eden’s GloryVehiclesNo personal vehicles are allowed while in the program during the first year of the program. Transportation to and from services, meetings, appointments, etc. will be provided by the program staff. Personal purchase of a vehicle may be a possibility during the “Transitioning Out Phase” and is dependent on the resident’s financial situation, successful completion previous phases and approval of staff. Personal FinancesResidents coming to the program with personal finances will be assisted in setting up a local bank account to deposit funds until graduation from the programStaff is not responsible for lost or stolen itemsPanhandling or borrowing money from anyone is not allowedRooms and PrivacyRooms must be kept clean at all timesEach individual is required to knock and wait for approval before entering a room with a closed or cracked door. Bedroom doors are to remain cracked at all times to ensure safety and well-being of the residents. Personal possessions must fit in the allotted storage spacesYou are not allowed in another person’s room without the permission of that individual. House leader’s room and bathroom is restricted at all times. HygieneAll residents must maintain personal hygiene on a daily basis. This includes but is not limited to taking a shower, brushing your teeth and wearing deodorantIf you need supplies for any of these, please let your house leader knowStaff will provide generic hygiene supplies. There will be a maximum amount spent on each individual per month so you will be able to make specific requests as long as they are within the price rangeMedical CareEach resident will be assisted in signing up for insurance upon admission to the program. All medical and dental needs will be covered by the program after submitted to insuranceIt is your responsibility to inform the staff of any chronic or current medical problems upon entry into the program as well as any medical needs that arisePrescription medication will be distributed by house managerPornographyPossession of or viewing pornographic material in any form is not allowed and will result in restrictionsHouse MaintenanceYou are expected to do your assigned work at the designated time (this can include household chores such as cleaning, yard work and basic upkeep)Any questions regarding work should be directed toward staff or designated leaderProbation and ParoleYou are expected to cooperate with law enforcement agenciesIf you have a court appearance, probation or parole meeting or legal appointment you are responsible to provide this information to the staff as soon as you become aware of the meeting in order to set up transportation, etc.ClassesYou must be on time for all classesIn case of a missed class, you are required to make up assignmentsParticipation in class and completion of assignments is required, no exceptionsTripsTrips, outings, visits, etc. are considered a privilege and not a rightLanguageIn order to further establish and maintain a healthy and restorative environment, all street talk, cursing, backbiting, gossiping is to be stopped upon admission to the programIt is unacceptable to speak in a derogatory manner toward other residents, staff or any other personDismissalIf you are found to have violated the program expectations, a plan will be established between you, the house manager, and program director to discuss a plan to reestablish health and healing. If you are unable to comply with this plan of action and restrictions or the health and well-being of yourself, other residents or staff is at risk, you may be dismissed from the program. If you leave or are dismissed from the program it is mandatory that you take all of your personal possessions with you immediatelyStaff will not be responsible for any items left upon departureIf dismissed from the program, you may not return to the program for a minimum of 30 days and a spot will not be guaranteed for you as other women may be more ready to be admitted to Eden’s Glory. If you voluntarily leave the program, you will be allowed to return only after a meeting with the Program Director and other staff in order to evaluate the readiness of returning to the program. A plan and an agreement will be established to ensure success of returnSchedulesYou are responsible to know and comply with your posted daily scheduleYou are required to attend all functions of Eden’s Glory and are expected to be prompt and on time unless previously discussed and agreed upon with staff.Any changes to the schedule will be communicated after the morning check-in or through your house managerChangesFrom time to time it may become necessary to make adjustments to these rules, with or without notice and at the discretion of the Program Director, Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors ................
