PROFILE

I’m a Spanish native speaking excellent English based in Edinburgh. I’ve been a professional translator for more than 15 years, always having to manage huge databases, tight deadlines and needing to learn new software and dealing with Customers and Clients. I’ve translated more than 200 video games and also I have Customer Service experience as a Translator/Customer Service Agent for , as an IT Technician for IT Solutions back in Spain.

I also have experience with subtitles and voice overs, designing and creating contents and as journalist.

I’ve been translating finance and cryptocurrency contents for the last few years, and I know very well the world of FinTechs.

I’m part of Developing the Young Workforce, a Scottish Government program to help young people. I talk to high school and college students about video games, gaming, IT, languages and how they develop careers in those industries and the ways to do it, always engaging them to study, follow their path even if it’s not a standard one and feel passion about what they do.

January 2015 – (still working as freelance): Freelance translator of Seprotec. Mainly doing technical translations of IT contentes for clients as HP, HP Business, Apple and Cepsa. Also contents for Finance, FinTech and cryptocurrency

December 2014 – (still working as freelance): Freelance translator with Flowlanguages, an Edinburgh-based translation company. With them I’ve done translations about economy, engineering, software, mobile applications, etc.

August 2011 (still working as freelance): Freelance translator for All-in Translations, translating the texts for the Spanish gambling licenses of one of the biggest gambling companies in the world. I’m still doing translations for this company, all of them related with the gambling world.



October 2016 (still working as freelance): translator for All Correct, focusing mainly in mobile games and casual gaming.



March 2008 - (still working as freelance): I started working for Wordlab () and at the moment I’m one of their freelance translators. With them I translated the board game “The Battle of the Sexes” and the videogames Night at the Museum 2, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Star Trek DAC and A Game of Thrones: The Roleplaying Game, Dark Souls 3, the Assasin’s Creed Series (a few of them) and Watchdogs 2.

May 2006 - 2015: Freelance translator for DL Multimedia, . November 2009 - October 2014: Main translator, editor, content writer, copywriter and proofreader of the Spanish division of ,

the biggest poker school of the world with more than 6.000.000 members. I translated all the poker articles and writing most of the news, dubbed instructional videos about poker and proofread the other translators and editors. In total, I’ve translated more than 4.000.000 words for and was also responsible of the QA process related with the website, usually having to work with HTML. I also had the coordinate different teams of translators, editors and journalists. I also had to design marketing campaigns, write contents like download guides, articles, online help pages, etc.

From September 1999 to December 2001 I worked as IT technician in IT Solutions, an IT company based in Santander. My job there was fixing computers, developing software and setting up networks and other computer systems.

CREATIVE WRITING

Since 2011 I’ve been also working as journalist and writer, about interesting historic characters like Titanic Thompson, the mental aspects of poker, and also made many interviews to poker players or people related to that world.

OTHER SKILLS

- I have a the Spanish equivalent of a degree in IT Management

- I have my own license of Trados SDLX, I’ve been using it for 10 years now.

- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.

- Knowledge of Camtasia, experience dubbing videos.

- In 1998 I was the Events Director of Esencia ’98, a gaming convention with more than 2.000 visitors and the first one ever in Spain to offer free accommodation.
