Strand A. Location of the major physical features and their impact

**For this strand, you will use the map below. Use the text to answer the following questions. You will also need to include pictures of the landforms, such as the Alps.

Answer the following questions on this paper:

1. What is Europe known as the “peninsula of peninsulas?” Name them and label them on the map.

2. What mountain ranges are there in Europe? Name them and label them on the map.

3. Where are the uplands located? Name them and label them on the map. Name the rivers and label them on the map.

4. How are the landforms of Europe both an advantage and a disadvantage to life? How have Europeans overcome the disadvantages (Ch. 12, Section 3)?
