Appendix I – Hurricane Supplies
1. Fuel Requirements
a. 3 – 10 gallon cans (30 gallons)
b. 1 - 30 gallon can (30 gallons)
c. 9 – 5 gallon cans (45 gallons)
d. Vehicles
e. Trailer
f. Crane
g. Mule
h. Melt/Pour
i. Generators
2. Oil for Generators/Chainsaw
3. Food – 3 to 7 day supply
4. Water (1 gallon daily per person, 3-7days worth)
a. Office Supply
b. Water Cooler
c. Check water tank in Trailer
5. Ice chest
6. Money ($2000-small bills)
7. Battery Operated Radio
8. Extra batteries (A, AA, AAA, C & D)
9. First Aid kits and least a month supply of prescription medication.
10. Flashlights (3)
11. Grill, Charcoal & Lighter Fluid
12. T.V. battery operated
13. Propane for Trailer
14. Hygiene Item (Toilet paper, Paper towels, etc.)
15. Bleach
16. Duct Tape
17. Tarps
18. Keys for all Vehicles
19. Keys for Magazines
20. Maps
Appendix II – Preparation Check List
1. Equipment is filled with fuel, gas &oil and tested.
2. Backup Generator with Propane
3. Chainsaw has extra chain, gas, oil, bar oil and tested.
4. Travel trailer is secured, ready to operate and tested.
5. Sandbags have been placed by front & back doors.
6. Confirm that all personnel have supplies.
7. Turn refrigerator down to coldest setting.
8. Fill Freezer with Ice.
9. Check portable A.C. unit to make sure working properly.
10. Pull containers out of front of Trailer to check.
11. Charge all batteries.
12. Fill Containers/Garbage cans with water.
13. Garbage and trash session.
14. Secure Melt/Pour.
15. Secure Boiler Building.
16. Secure Magazines.
17. Secure Boat Building.
18. Move Items out of Storage Building.
Onshore Hurricane Procedures
ADMINISTRATIVE
1. STAGE I (Named Storm headed for GOM)
A. Check Disaster Safe.
B. Review Inventory of Hurricane Supplies (Appendix I).
C. Review Preparation Check list. (Appendix II).
D. Review Offshore Hurricane Procedures.
E. Preliminary call to Customers for Offshore Personnel & Equipment status.
2. STAGE II (Named Storm entering GOM-Storm Watch)
A. Contact Customers for Offshore personnel & equipment status.
B. Be prepared for Vehicle & Personnel pickup.
C. Make preliminary purchases from Appendix I.
D. Begin Preparation Checklist from Appendix II.
E. Inventory of Explosives at Office (Disaster Safe).
F. Offshore Explosive Inventory (Disaster Safe).
G. Back up financial reports on laptop/ back up all computer files.
3. STAGE III (In GOM and predicted landfall -Storm Warning)
A. Confirm all items in Appendix I & II are completed.
B. Confirm status of all personnel.
C. Confirm personnel evacuation locations.
D. Move laptop & Disaster Safe to different location.
E. All personnel must contact office.
4. STAGE IV (After the Storm)
A. Contact Office/Personnel (Appendix III). If phones down locally call Houston and/or Satellite phone before returning.
B. Purchase gas, food & ice.
C. Make sure you have cash.
D. Fill up Vehicles.
OFFSHORE
1. STAGE I (Named Storm headed for GOM)
A. Offshore Technician consults with Contractor to determine plan for Vessel, Explosives & Personnel.
B. Advise office of possible evacuation and demobilization of equipment & personnel.
C. Offshore Technician consults with Contractor and pre-determine site to move equipment offshore if complete demobilization of equipment is not possible.
D. Prepare Explosive Inventory List to send to Office.
2. STAGE II (Named storm entering GOM-Storm Watch)
A. Offshore Coordinator notifies Coast Guard, Dock facility and common carrier transport of possible demobilization of equipment.
B. Offshore Technician advises office of evacuation.
C. Dunnage all magazines and secure them for possible demobilization.
D. Secure all loose objects.
E. Check all emergency supplies
F. Retrieve all equipment possible.
G. Reconfirm site to which explosive magazines will be moved, if complete demobilization is not possible.
H. Notify common carrier of pick-up location and time, if required.
3. STAGE III (In GOM and predicted landfall-Storm Warning)
A. Call office upon arrival on land.
B. Magazine Keys to be carried at all times.
4. STAGE IV (After Storm)
A. Call Office before returning to area.
B. Consult with Contractor to determine when it is safe to return to work.
C. If complete demobilization of equipment occurred, apply for permit to transfer explosive material offshore.
D. Fill up Vehicles.
