Lake Travis High School features a multi -level curriculum designed to meet the needs of each student. Standard, Pre-

AP/Honors and Advanced Placement course options are available in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, Languages other than English, and Fine Arts. A variety of Career and Technical courses are available to satisfy required curricular endorsements. Lake Travis ISD offers Programs of Study in all five state recognized Endorsement areas: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Business and Industry, Public Service, Arts and Humanities, and Multidisciplinary. Dual credit and Dual Enrollment courses are also

offered in partnership with Austin Community College and University of Texas. Special Education, 504, ESL and Gifted and Talented programming is available to meet the needs of identified

students.

Academic Schedule Lake Travis High School operates on an alternating block format

with four classes meeting every other day. The Fall Semester is from August through December and the Spring Semester is from January to May. Most courses will meet every other day, all year. If a course is "double-blocked", it will

either meet every day, all year or back-to-back class periods, and will consume two of the eight total blocks in a

student's schedule.

Grading System and GPA Scale

A 90-100 B 80-89 C 70-79 F Below 70 GPA (Grade-Point-Average) is calculated on a 100-point scale with additional points awarded to Pre-

AP/Honors, Advanced Placement courses, and Dual Enrollment courses. Our listed 4.0 GPA is unweighted. Both GPA scales are calculated using individual semester grades of all courses listed on the transcript with the exception of Middle School, Summer School, Dual Credit, Correspondence, and

Credit By Exam grades.

Class Rank and GPA Policy A student's cumulative Weighted Numerical Grade Average is on a 100-point scale, begins at the end of the first semester of the 9th grade year, and is recalculated at the end of each semester. The 2020 Spring Semester average will not be calculated into the weighted numerical grade average and will not be a part of the class rankings for our students. Due to the unique circumstances involved with the Spring 2020 semester, it was determined that it would be best to exclude this semester from their academic rankings. The earned grades and credits for the Spring semester are entered on the transcript as normal so that colleges can evaluate the transcript according to their admissions policies.

Lake Travis High School reports a 100 point weighted GPA using the values shown below:
