Due Date –

Directions: Make up 3 trigonometry word problems that involves you as a main character. One problem will use sine, one cosine, and one tangent. Illustrate one of the word problems of your choice 3-dimensionally – for example, in a shoebox, as a mobile, on a poster with projected materials, with play dough, etc. Be creative!

**YOUR PROBLEMS SHOULD NOT MATCH/BE SIMILAR TO ANY OTHER GEOMETRY STUDENT’S PROBLEMS. **

Hand In:

Page 1 - All 3 trig problems typed. The problems only (not the solutions)

Page 2 - An answer key for your problems. This should include a labeled drawing, formulas, and a complete solution.

3-D Model - Your model, which should be neat, organized, and contained. If you use a shoebox, for instance, make sure that it is neatly covered inside and out. If you sculpt your model with clay or play dough, make sure it is contained on a tray or in a box. If you have any questions or need help getting started, please see me.

Grading:

1. Problem 30 points

Creativity/Humor, Difficulty, and Appropriateness to student

2. Problem Statement 10 points

Clarity, Neatness, Clearly typed and attached to your project WITHOUT the solution.

3. Problem Solution 30 points

Clarity and Accuracy, Clearly written and SEPARATE from your actual project.

4. Model 30 points

Appearance, Problem as part of your scene, Project neatly assembled, Creativity/Humor

5. Late - 10 points/day

Projects will lose 10 points per day they are late.
