An Omaha summer tradition, Jazz on the Green is celebrating its 25th year and this is the opening night. Students will also have free access to the landmarked museum until 8:00pm. We will leave the Harper Center Ballroom following dinner to walk together.

Balance: A Sense of Reflection in Action

The life of a student leader is one that is too busy to recognize when a sense of balance is missing. This session focuses on how reflection is crucial in the daily lives of student leaders. Students will create short term and long term goals based on their reflection in order to reach their full potential as a leader on campus.

Breakthrough

This program will guide students through recognizing both barriers to and opportunities for success in leadership positions. By using the activity of board breaking, the program will challenge students to understand their own capabilities for success. This session is limited to 12 participants on a first-come, first serve basis and will involve physical activity.

Managing Large Student Organizations

Mark Micelli and Alex Hirs—Boston College

This session will cover basic tips for managing large student organizations. The Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC) operates with an 80 student appointed cabinet. Tips and techniques for keeping large organizations on task and productive will be discussed.

The Town and Gown Relationship: Building Partnerships with Your Surrounding Community

Student leaders and campus leaders quickly recognize that the importance of relationships. An important relationship that sometimes gets neglected is the relationship with the local community.
