Directions:

Study the chart pertaining to The Fifteen Executive Departments on

page 426-427. Notice the years each was established and note the last one established. Also, note that the president has the power to appoint all Cabinet level advisors but must have Senate approval (Secretary of Defense General James Mattis appointed by President Trump)

Read about the principle functions of each department.

Choose a theme to help you create a consistent analogy about the Cabinet Departments. Be consistent with your theme and make sure you have a symbol for each Cabinet that corresponds to your theme. Theme ideas:

a. Disney characters, food items, vehicles, celebrities, restaurants, countries, cities, buildings, national monuments, colors, animals, etc.

b. For example: If you chose a Disney princess theme, you might use Mulan to represent the Department of Defense, or Cinderella for the Department of Labor.

Include a President, Chief of Staff, and Press Secretary

Create a powerpoint slide for each position – (A title slide + President, Chief of Staff, Press Secretary, and the 15 Departments)
