Forester I (Range 30), in the Public Service

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the office of Forester I (Range 30), in the Public Service. Applicants are advised that the maximum age for recruitment shall be fifty (50) years in accordance with Regulation 16 (1) of the Civil Service Regulations, made pursuant to the Civil Service Act, Chapter 23:01 of the Revised Laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

SALARY Range 30: $7,230 - $9,086/$9,781 per month (2013).

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK: An employee in this class is responsible for the care and protection of forests in an assigned area. Work involves the performance of a variety of field work involving the sale of forest products and the periodical patrol and inspection of a range to ensure conformity to the controlling laws. Work also involves the performance of incidental clerical duties and may include rendering assistance with the supervision of silvicultural operations on a plantation. Supervision is provided by higher level foresters who assigns work, gives preliminary instructions and reviews work in progress and upon completion for equality and adherence to established procedures.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Training as evidenced by the possession of the Diploma in Forestry from the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry; or its equivalent.
