M.2 devices face thermal challenges due to their hot components and small low-profile shape which deprive it of airflow. The Frostbit solves this problem with an ultra-thin heat pipe that runs the full length of the M.2 device and efficiently draws heat from the components, while a second?stacked heat pipe pulls heat from the base upwards to an extended heatsink. The heatsink extends from the mainboard and captures significantly more airflow through the heatsink fins. The extended heatsink is also adjustable and detachable from the base, so users can adjust the Frostbit to suit specific PC setups. Jury comments:CRYORIG achieved a clean and professional look for this clever solution, especially the rotating copper arms, which allow CRYORIG Frostbit to fit into clustered motherboards with different air stream situation. CRYORIG did a great job solving a big problem for M.2 devices, which gather heat very easily due to their small sizes.6985012319000Name of Entry: Charms lines Switch S2 | Smart Lighting SystemMANUFACTURER: Shenzhen Xiaoqi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. | ChinaAibic Intelligent Technology | ChinaDESIGNER: Shenzhen Xiaoqi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. | ChinaDescription:"Charms lines Switch S2" is an intelligent switch that supports remote lighting and scene control with a 10 mm ultra-thin appearance and premium aluminum case, giving it a very fine finish. This show is definitely on trend, and I’m curious to see how it grows and evolves from here. During the jury session, we have an opportunity to recognize well-executed products and solutions with a combination of good design, technology, and function, which is what users want, as well as what makes sense from a strategic business and design perspective. He is currently an executive coach and corporate consultant for business leaders and tech entrepreneurs in Taiwan. Jury Impression:‘This is the first time I have served as a judge of the COMPUTEX d&i awards. During the jury session I paid particular attention to the business value of every design. I asked myself again and again, "who are the target audience?" and "What is the problem the product or system is trying to solve?" I define good innovation with this in mind. The COMPUTEX d&i awards serves as the leading indicator of design and innovation, both representing current trends and defining future ones.’Georg TodtenbierCRE8 DESIGN|TaiwanBiography:Georg Todtenbier was a sculptor before he decided to study industrial design in Germany and Tokyo. He then worked for the Panasonic Design Team in Japan. Today, Georg lives in Taiwan. He is a manager at CRE8 DESIGN, Taiwan, and also teaches in the field of product design. Jury Impression:‘I’ve been coming to COMPUTEX for many years, and I've known the COMPUTEX d&i awards from their beginning. The design and innovation quality of the entries has increased over the years. We have seen quite a few products with excellent design, innovation, and attention to details in the competition this year. However, we have also seen price competition among some products. By not selecting them for awards, we hope to send a signal to the industry that just getting cheaper with the same specs is not the right way to go. You should pay more attention to design and innovation. That is what the COMPUTEX d&i awards is all about.’Kyle HsiaoVIVO|ChinaBiography:Kyle Hsiao has worked as Design Director at Asustek and established PEGA D&E Design in Shanghai in 2007. I have been watching the COMPUTEX Taipei for more than ten years. I see many companies’ product design quality, concepts and approaches getting more mature over the years. Titled a design and innovation award, the competition focuses not only on a beautiful outward look, but also the innovation inside of a product. This is where the panel of judges put a lot of thoughts and attention. It is also the core value of the COMPUTEX d&i awards.’Richard LaiEngadget Chinese|ChinaBiography:Richard Lai joined Engadget in London in late 2009, and was promoted to Associate Editor before moving back to Hong Kong in early 2011, where he became Editor-in-Chief of Engadget Chinese. Richard witnessed the recent boom of Chinese smartphone brands and hardware startups in Asia, and he also closely follows the drone and VR industries. He was one of the first international reporters to cover Chinese companies such as Xiaomi, Huawei, DJI and OnePlus well before they drew worldwide attention.Jury Impression:‘I was surprised to see the variety of products at this year’s competition. It shows that there are still many companies out there willing to go the extra mile in their design to solve pain points for the consumers. It is good to see that the industry as a whole is still putting a lot of effort and energy into products. A lot of contemporary product design definitely impresses me. Not necessarily the major brands, but some relatively smaller companies have surprised us with their clever, gorgeous and innovative designs. The COMPUTEX d&i awards is definitely one of the important parts of the trade show for me, as it is where we get to see the highlights of each year’s COMPUTEX.’Yasunari NishiokaSony (China) Limited|ChinaBiography:Yasunari Nishioka is the director of the Sony Creative Center in Shanghai. After studying communication in the US and France, he has worked at Sony since 1993. He is responsible for Sony’s brand showcase, the Sony Gallery in Shanghai.Jury Impression:‘My first impression of the COMPUTEX d&i awards is the sheer quantity and variety of the entries, and that the submissions are mostly gadget-based. A small device based on bone conduction technology created by a startup company caught my attention in particular. The technology has been out there for quite some time. This is a very good attempt to commercialize it. That automatically makes the products’ design team and engineers the front-runners in the market. The COMPUTEX d&i awards really give the start-ups like this an opportunity to challenge themselves and to demonstrate their ability.’For more information and images, please contact:30759408636000Amber Tung | 董晏廷iF DESIGN ASIA Ltd.No. 133, Guangfu S.
