Teams need to bring the following:
1) SCC Release of Liability Form signed by parents
2) TMS Release of Liability Forms (adult and minors)
3) All drivers verify their driver’s licenses [Driver Check-In]
[Wristbands awarded when driver completes Scrutineering Station 4]
4) Teams with more than 14 people (students, teachers, chaperones) make arrangements for “extra person fee”
5) Purchase tickets for Awards Banquet - $25/person
6) Supply documents to complete Final Race Registration packet
7) Bring a radio you plan to use during the race
8) Non-digital scrapbooks will be turned in at Oral Presentations
Teams will receive:
(1) 14 tee shirts
(2) 50 Official Race Booklets
(3) Traditional “baking soda” for environmental spills
(4) Rule Booklet and “Final Where-to-Be What-to-Do” Document
(5) Official Scrutineering Packet
(6) Race Identification badges for all race participants
(7) Draw for Starting Order, Garage Location, & Oral Presentation

Teams get access to Texas Motor Speedway. Staff will show
teams their designated garage area .

8:00 AM Scrutineering Session No. 1 [8:00 AM – 6:00 PM]
All cars must be ready to begin Scrutineering at 8:00 AM or will receive a penalty. [Rule 7.1] Hat Rule goes into effect.
Water Station Open – teams will be asked to periodically provide a
volunteer to help run the water station.
Guests – Guests seeking to observe teams during scrutineering need
to identify themselves with the guard at the Texas Motor Speedway South Gate. Guest hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Designated parking areas for guests will be identified in the infield area. Only teams and support vehicles can park in the garage enclosure. [These rules apply to guests on Saturday, Sunday & Monday]

Teams need to have several team members with their solar cars in order to answer questions from the public. Please set up tents.
11:00 AM – 1:30 PM Teams will be served a box lunch at the Hilton Garden Inn, hosted
by El Paso Electric and the Solar Car Challenge.
Teams will rotate so that no more than 50 people will be in the restaurant at one time. This is designed to prevent over-crowding, and provide a cool rest for students manning the display.

5:30 PM Required Teams Meeting at SCC Trailer in UTEP Parking Lot SC1.
This is in preparation for Saturday’s Early driving schedule

July 21
5:00 AM Impound Opens at UTEP Parking Lot. Be sure you have picked up your judge before you get to the Parking Lot
Teams will make arrangements to meet their judges at the hotel,
and then pick up solar car trailers. It is a 162 mile drive from El Paso to Lordsburg, NM. Teams begin driving from a point located outside Lordsburg at 9:00 AM.

12:30 PM LUNCH STOP & DISPLAY
UA Tech Park and Solar Zone, just East of Tucson

Teams will be served a great Mexican Food lunch hosted by Arizona State University and the UA Tech Park. Teams will be welcomed by representatives of the University, Tech Park, and the City.
We will display the solar cars at the UA Tech Park Community Center,
and have group pictures. Teams will be asked to talk to the audience.

Teams will trailer solar cars to Sunset Park located west of Wickenburg, AZ. This is approximately 74 miles from the Arizona State Parking Lot. The Impound will open early so that teams can travel through Phoenix with less traffic problems.
