Teen Culture Project
You will explore the history of the teen subculture by putting together a Powerpoint presentation that has to do with teen culture in ONE particular decade of American history. You may choose any decade from the list below:

For the decade you choose, create a visual presentation that includes examples of the following from THAT decade.
(1) Teen Slang Words/Expressions - FIVE examples + meanings!
(2) Guy's Clothing/Hairstyle - TWO examples
(3) Girl's Clothing/Hairstyle - TWO examples
(4) Music Style/Performer - THREE examples
(5) Teen Activities/Fads - TWO examples
(6) Material Culture - THREE examples.
(7) Detail of High School Life - TWO examples
(8) Popular Teen Movie - TWO examples
(9) Popular TV Show - TWO examples
(10) Interview - talk to someone who graduated from high school during that decade. Ask them specific questions about teenage life.
For each example, you will need to include:
(1) a photo/picture
(2) a short explanation of the item/activity - What was/is it? Why was it popular? **Anything interesting about it** The explanations should not be more than 4-5 sentences in length. Keep it short and to-the-point!
**Presentations will take place in class on dates to be announced in advance. You must have your Powerpoint on a flash drive or email to aharms@abs.
**Powerpoint slides must be printed SIX-NINE PER PAGE and turned in at the time of your presentation.
**One day of lab research will be provided for you on a date to be announced.
**If you do not know how to utilize Powerpoint, you MUST speak with Mrs. Harms in advance. No other presentation formats are to be used for this project.
**This paper must be included with your final product.
