1) (25 Points) In the video we watched in class, Gilbane Gold, the character David Jackson made one choice for his actions as a water treatment engineer. Describe another choice that David Jackson could have chosen in this situation. Be specific about what he could have done, and how he could have done it. State whether you believe that that choice would be ethical, and whether you believe that choice would be acceptable to ZCorp. Explain your answers. Use complete sentences.

2) (15 Points) Dr. John Glover came and spoke to the class about several different degree plans.

a. How many different paths to getting degrees did he describe? List each one, along with the name of the degree that results from that path.

b. Which paths are accredited by ABET?

c. What is the name and course number for the bottleneck course that he mentioned?

4) (20 Points) An engineering student works 30 hours per week at a job, working five days a week. The job is a 30-minute drive from her home. She is taking 6 semester credit hours of engineering courses at UH, attending classes four days a week. She lives an hour away from school. Assume that she sleeps six hours a night, and eats/cooks two hours a day. It takes her about an hour every day for personal activities. Further, assume that she relaxes with her friends for 12 hours every weekend. Under the “Rule of 4”, does she have an appropriate schedule? Explain, briefly, using complete sentences.

5) (15 Points) The Landis book tries to answer the question “What is engineering?” In class, Dr. Shattuck tried to answer the same question. Contrast the two answers given, explaining the similarities between the two answers, and the differences. Use several complete sentences to give your answer.
