Sample Article for Internal Newsletters (Long)Target Release Date: Before December 15On our way to WorkdayWorkday@UChicago to be launched January 5, 2015A change is coming to Employee Self-Service (ESS). As of January 5, 2015, ESS (ess.uchicago.edu) will be replaced by Workday@UChicago, the HR and payroll system that everyone—all new and current faculty, staff, other academic appointees, and temporary and student workers—will use to manage and view their personal, pay, and benefits information. In the future, other outdated HR systems will be replaced by Workday, including UChicago Time and UChicago Jobs. After you log in with your CNET ID, the biggest difference you will notice is Workday’s modern interface and user-friendly navigation. All other self-service options will remain: making benefits elections, viewing your pay stub and changing contact information. Pay stubs and W-2 forms from 2014 and earlier will still be available through an ESS archive. To see a full listing of how Workday compares to ESS, please click here. At the end of the year, all information currently in ESS will be migrated over to Workday, so there is no need for you to do anything—other than be aware of the transition. After January 5, you will be redirected to Workday@UChicago to perform any of the functions you do in ESS today. Quick reference guides and online videos will be available to help you discover the new system.
