Gender and Empowerment Measurement Compendium Consultant

At Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), we conduct innovative, rigorous, multidisciplinary research on complex issues related to people's sexual and reproductive lives. The University of California Global Health Institute's (UCGHI's) Center of Expertise in Women's Health, Gender, and Empowerment is a UC-wide collaborative to promote justice and scientific advantages that reduce gender and health inequities locally and globally.

ANSIRH seeks a short-term consultant to manage the implementation of a project supported by the Center of Expertise. The project entails updating, compiling and categorizing existing measures and scales related to gender and empowerment. The final product will be an online database of empowerment measures to serve as a centralized repository and resource. Depending on the consultant skills, this work may require collaboration with a technical consultant to develop the database. This work can be completed either from the Bay Area or at a remote location and is expected to last from August 2017-December 2017. A stipend will be provided as compensation for this work.

Required Qualifications:

Holds or currently pursuing an advanced degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, public health, or other related field

Interest in gender and women's empowerment and expanding access to health care services Interest in psychometrics Ability to work independently Strong communication skills Highly organized

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with website development Previous experience developing online databases
