This Lenten season we invite you to Pray4Five! During this season leading up to Easter, we invite you to select five people you know, who need Jesus in their lives, and commit to pray for them every day. Pray4Five cards are available from the ushers and at the Welcome Desk in the Lobby. Turn in your cards to the baskets by the Sanctuary doors so that UCUMC staff can pray for your 5 too!

For anyone interested in discovering more about UCUMC and how to get involved, join us for this informal reception to get to know other newcomers and meet others in our community. You will also have the opportunity to sign up for upcoming Membership Classes.

Uplifting, Passionate Worship

Mercy Tree: An Easter Musical - March 28th at 7pm & March 29th at 3pm (matin?e). This powerful portrayal of the Easter story will be presented by the Celebration Choir, Drama Ministry, 11am Worship Team, King's Herald Quartet, Movie Ministry, Psalm 150 Orchestra, Soloists, & Tech Team. FREE concert; a love offering will be received. We would love to have you join us and encourage you to bring a friend! We have tickets to help you invite others (tickets not needed for admission). UCUMC's Jan/Feb/Mar 2015 Celebration Newsletter will be published this Wednesday, March 18th. It will be available online at media, through UCUMC email, and on Facebook and Twitter. Check it out to see the amazing things God is doing at and through UCUMC!

The Staff Parish Relations Committee announces the retirement of Ceil McGee, Director of Adult Ministries, effective March 31st. Although we are sad to see her leave, we are happy for Ceil & her husband David as they transition into a new chapter of life that will include being full-time grandparents! We will honor & celebrate her ministry at UCUMC on Sunday, March 29th, with a reception after each worship service. Please make plans to attend that day and help us celebrate Ceil.

Help us decorate the Flowered Cross in the Gathering Space on Easter Sunday, April 5th. Please bring flowers in the following colors that correspond with the Colors of Love Lenten sermon series: red, purple, blue, gold, and white.

If you would like to place an Easter Lily in the church on Easter Sunday, April 5th, in honor or in memory of a loved one, please fill out the form below. This session will be Raising a Spirited Child by Dr. Devonya GovanHunt of Critical Curriculum Consulting Services. For parents raising children with intense, energetic, and persistent temperaments. Hints on who the "spirited child" is, a look at practical methods for working with "spirit," AND learning how to enjoy "spirit!"

Called to Serve & Missions Focused

DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K) program for children (ages 5?12) of families experiencing divorce and separation: Meets at University City UMC each Thursday night at 6pm. Each session is centered on a weekly theme to help the children process the many changes they are facing. Every "Safekeeper" has been trained and had a background check. UCUMC is a Safe Sanctuary church.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES

WinShape 2015 Registration is now open! Sign your child(ren) up for the week-long day camp experience where he or she can experience the life-changing, memorymaking, adventure-taking awesomeness. WinShape 2015 will be June 15th - 19th and is for children who have completed 1st - 6th grade. Visit camps for registration.

W.O.R.K.ZONE 11am is back! Starting today, Sunday, March 15th all students, K-5th grade, are invited to join us during the 11am worship service. Parents, you need to sign your child(ren) in and pick them up in the Fellowship Hall. We will have a Bible lesson, craft/game, fellowship time and music! It's going to be great! Questions? Volunteers needed for Loaves & Fishes Pantry! As we continue to staff the Loaves & Fishes Pantry located at Statesville Avenue Presbyterian Church, we are in need of several more volunteers to either commit to a Monday morning each month or whenever a 5th Monday occurs. Renovation Youth Choir Day of Service - Saturday, March 21st: Do you have a minor project around your house to be done? Let the Youth Choir do it! On March 21st, a team of youth from the Renovation Youth Choir will come and help or do a project as you prepare for Spring. Suggested ideas include flower bed/garden prep, inside spring cleaning, minor construction projects, automobile detailing, etc. Cost: donation to help fund the choir's summer mission trip (suggested to be cost of an outside service).
