Program Overview

The mission of the Pharmacy Residency Program at University Health Shreveport is to provide quality patient care, education, and research. The PGY1 Residency Program is designed to provide the resident with the skills and knowledge required to become a competent pharmacy practitioner in today's ever-changing medical community. In order to comply with the requirements of the program, residents are required to complete a set of 8 core one-month rotations as well as 4 elective one-month rotations. As part of the longitudinal experience, residents are required to complete a research project and present the results at a regional residency conference. In addition to the clinical rotations, residents will also provide staffing services.
