UX/UI Designer

Job Title UX/UI Designer

Report to Head of Online Experience

Location HQ, Trafford Park, Manchester

A bit about the company:

Established in 1994, The Fragrance Shop is the UK’s leading independent fragrance retailer. Our aim is to make mainstream and luxury fragrances affordable and accessible to all. We showcase over 130 fragrance brands available in over 180 stores throughout UK, online at thefragranceshop.co.uk, and via our app and mobile site, as well as over the phone. With an almost obsessive focus on creating the best shopping experience for our customers that keeps them coming back, The Fragrance Shop is on a steep growth track with many exciting new development plans on the near term horizon that will see us expand into new categories (beauty), new customer demographic groups with premium and niche offerings for both beauty and fragrances, and into new international markets commencing with US.

Role Overview:

The Fragrance Shop aspires to provide a best-in-class omnichannel browsing and shopping experience that leads to commercial value for the business, and to be present in the customer journey however the customer chooses to interact with us. We are focused on their needs and want to invest in areas that makes the experience even more relevant, convenient, and enjoyable for them.

Online is an increasingly important channel in the omnichannel journey, both as a driver of direct sales and for browsing that culminates into a store visit. However, whilst we achieve fairly healthy conversion rates largely due to product choice, pricing, and service, we know that we need to improve many other areas before we can claim to be best-in-breed. For example, navigation and signposting are not wholly intuitive, customer journeys are not entirely fast or seamless, and designs do not reflect the brand that we aspire to be. We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to support the transformation of the experience for customers and visitors impacting on KPIs such as traffic, footfall, time on site, sales, and profitability, and to support the development, localisation, and delivery of a product roadmap to meet strategic business objectives.

This role is suited to a creative and online-savvy individual who spends much of their time searching, browsing and purchasing online, and who has an innate understanding of what customers want from their online journeys in a retail environment.
