• Niagara Falls: the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between Canada and the United States; the combined falls form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world, Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall in North America. Niagara Falls were formed when glaciers receded at the end of the last ice age.

• Vieux (Old) Montreal: is the oldest area in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with few remains dating back to the 1700s. One of the oldest urban areas in North America with many historic buildings.

• Cabot Trail: a scenic highway on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, it is known for its road being nestled between tall plateaus and high cliffs that plunge down into the ocean. Lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery.

• Bay of Fundy: between New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Maine, it has the highest tide in the world. Also known for unique geologic formations such as the Hopewell Rocks the “Flowerpot Islands”

• Sleeping Giant: a formation of hills and cliffs which resembles a giant lying on its back near Thunder Bay, Ontario. Its dramatic steep cliffs are among the highest in Ontario (250 m).

• Confederation Bridge: a nearly 13 km long bridge that links PEI to the mainland of New Brunswick.

• Dawson City: a small town in Yukon that was the centre of the Gold Rush in the late 1800s. An interesting cultural location.

• Drumheller: a town in Alberta in the Badlands, famous for its Hoodoo rock formations.

• Northwest Passage: a sea route through the Arctic Ocean through the Canadian Arctic islands connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Explorers looked for it for decades as a possible trade route. It has historic importance but is still vital to this day.

• Toronto’s Distillery District: is a historic and entertainment area in Toronto. It contains numerous cafés, restaurants, and shops housed within heritage buildings of the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery. It is the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture in North America.

• Tuktoyaktuk pingos: an area in northern Northwest Territories that has 1,350 Arctic ice dome hills—approximately one quarter of the world's pingos. A pingo is not a normal hill; its interior is solid ice.

• Churchill, Manitoba: the ‘Polar Bear Capital of the World’, a small town on Hudson Bay that attracts thousands of tourists every year to go out in the specially designed Tundra Buggies to view the bears. There is also a large population of beluga whales that live offshore.

• Grasslands National Park: Grasslands National Park is the first national park of Canada to preserve a portion of the mixed prairie grasslands. It is in Saskatchewan. The park protects unique flora and fauna, including Canada’s only black-tailed prairie dogs and other rare reptiles and amphibians that are mainly spotted along the Frenchman River Valley.

• Thousand Islands: a series of 1,864 islands in the St. Lawrence River between Canada and the US. It is home to some unique flora and fauna, and has some of the oldest rocks in Ontario.

• Casa Loma: a famous castle built in Toronto between 1911-1914.
