Preston Dennett began investigating UFOs in 1986 when he discovered that his family, friends, and coworkers were having dramatic encounters. He is a field investigator for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and a member of the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS). He has written 10 books and more than 100 articles, and he has appeared on numerous television and radio programs. His research has been featured in leading magazines and newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times, the LA Daily News, and The Dallas Morning News. He has taught classes about UFOs and lectures across the United States. Dennett currently lives in Canoga Park, California.

My 9 yr old loves UFOs and aliens so this was a great little book to get him started. The information was perfect for his age and the pictures are just enough to enhance to writing.

Dennett gives the reader a concise history of UFO phenomenon from ancient times to the present, and quotes some of the people who actually saw them. He also explains what happened during some of the most notable UFO sightings, in recent history, including landings and abductions.The book also includes information about government cover-ups, crashed saucers and theories about what the aliens are doing.Every chapter has illustrations and information for the reader, including examples of the different types of aliens and UFOs, the 10 signs of an abduction, and what to do if you see a UFO.The book also has a glossary, and lists books, organizations and websites, for further study.

This is a concise and entertaining overview of UFOs and ufology by a UFO enthusiast. Covers the evidence for UFOs from prehistoric times until present day encounters. Illustrates the encounters with lots of famous examples. Mentions intriguing phenomena about UFOs, like the different theories about who the aliens are, different categories of aliens, "alien implants" in human abductees, and the terrifying "Men in Black" who confiscate evidence of UFOs. While the author takes a pro-UFO stand, he mentions when skeptics have been critical of the evidence.A good elementary introduction to UFOs that will wet your appetite for more.
