American Revolution Cooperative Project:

Design a Theme Park

The United States Board of Tourism wants to hire your company! Yes, your company is being given the challenge of designing a section of the newest theme park which will be located in one of the original 13 states.

This new theme park will be centered on the events of the American Revolution. Will this theme park be bigger than that “mouse” park? You bet it will!! The American Revolution was one of the biggest events in the history of the world, and this park will celebrate how a rag-tag group of patriots stood up against the world’s greatest power….and won!

Your task is to work in cooperative groups to design a section of the park. You will be given some significant topics relating to the Revolutionary War such as people, events, documents, and battles. You must gather information about the topics. You will then work to create the attractions and elements for your section of the theme park.

-library books (optional)

-laptop

4. Teacher will give each team a list of topics from one of 5 sections of chapter 6. As a team, CHOOSE FIVE TOPICS TO RESEARCH from your list. All members should help in the research of the information.

5. The research section of the attached handouts (Attractions and Explanations) must be completed FIRST. Writers can record information onto handouts. PLEASE BE NEAT SO ALL MEMBERS CAN READ.

6. AFTER, research is complete, team leader should give handouts to teacher to check for accuracy. Your section of the study guide must then be completed by all students.

7. As a team, you will then work to create your theme park. Your section of the theme park must include:

--1 ride

--1 food

--1 game

--1 show/entertainment

--1 souvenir

YOU MUST USE EACH TOPIC ONCE. Remember teacher example.

8. Writer will finish recording information onto handouts as ideas are generated and finalized.
