GENERAL INFORMATION

Q When will my account become a Union Bank? account?

A Your Tamalpais Bank account will become a Union Bank account on January 24, 2011, giving you full access to more than 390 banking offices and over 600 ATMs in California, Oregon, and Washington.1

Q Will my banking office remain open?

A Yes, former Tamalpais Bank banking offices will remain open at their current locations.Visit for a complete list of banking office locations and hours, including extended and Saturday hours at some locations.

Q Will my account numbers change?

A Account numbers for checking, savings, and money market accounts will remain the same (unless you were notified otherwise). If you have a Time Deposit (Certificate of Deposit), IRA, or loan, you will receive a new account number, effective January 24, 2011. Please see the cover letter included with your Union Bank conversion package for details.

Q Will I continue to receive account statements?

A Yes. If you currently receive your statements online, your statements will be available online, including check images, at no cost. If your statements are mailed to you, we will continue to mail your monthly statement.You will receive a statement for your checking and money market account(s) every month, unless there is no account activity.You may not receive statements for your savings account(s) during months when there is no electronic activity; you will, however, receive quarterly statements for all accounts regardless of account activity.

If you prefer to receive your statements online, visit to choose this option.

Q Will I also get a statement for my Time Deposit/ Certificate of Deposit (CD) account?

A No. For CDs, statements will no longer be generated. You will only receive a receipt upon account opening, and then a maturity notice and renewal notice (if you choose to automatically renew). However, you can always view your CD balance via Union Bank Online Banking.

Q Will my Tamalpais Bank accounts be merged with any Union Bank accounts that I currently have?

A No, your Union Bank account and the account that was converted from Tamalpais Bank will remain separate, and you will receive separate statements for each account.

Checks and ATM/debit Cards

Q Will I receive a new ATM or debit card? What about my PIN?

A If you currently have a Tamalpais Bank ATM card or a Tamalpais Bank VISA? Check Card, you will receive your new Union Bank ATM card or Union Bank MasterCard? Debit Card in mid-January.Your PIN number will remain the same. After activating your new card, you can begin using it on Saturday, January 22, 2011. Please destroy your Tamalpais Bank card and use only your new Union Bank card at that time.

Q Can I select a new PIN for my Union Bank ATM or debit card?

A Yes, if you would like to change your PIN, visit any Union Bank banking office beginning January 22, 2011, or call 800-238-4486.

Q Where can I use my new ATM or debit card?

A Beginning on January 22, 2011, your new Union Bank debit card will allow you to make purchases at millions of retail locations that accept the MasterCard Debit Card. With your new Union Bank ATM card or debit card, you can also access over 600 Union Bank ATMs and ATMs worldwide that display the MasterCard or STAR? symbol.2

Q Can I use the MoneyPass? ATM Network?

A Yes. However, as a Union Bank customer, you will be charged a fee when using the MoneyPass ATM Network.

Q Will my new Union Bank debit card have the same capabilities as my old Tamalpais Bank card?

A Yes.Your new Union Bank debit card will offer the same features and purchasing power.Your daily cash withdrawal and purchase limits will remain the same as the current limits on your Tamalpais Bank card.

Q What will happen to automatic bill payments I have linked to my Tamalpais ATM or check card?

A As soon as you receive your new Union Bank card, please inform any third party or business initiating a charge to your Tamalpais Bank card of your new card number, effective January 22, 2011. Some providers require time to make this change, so informing them immediately of your new card number will help ensure your services continue uninterrupted.

Q Can I continue to use my Tamalpais Bank checks?

A Yes, you can continue to use your existing Tamalpais Bank checks.When ordering new checks through Union Bank, we will automatically update your checks with the Union Bank account number and routing number. When ordering new checks through another vendor, provide your new Union Bank routing number, 122000496, and your account number.

Online Banking

Q When is the last day I can make transactions on the Tamalpais Bank website?

A The last day to make transactions at is January 21, 2011. Beginning January 24, 2011, all online banking activities will be conducted at .

Q During the conversion, will there be a period of time when online banking will not be available?

A Yes. On January 22-23, 2011, online banking will not be available to you on either or on .

Q Can I continue banking online with Union Bank?

A Yes, beginning January 24, 2011, you can access your new Union Bank account(s) and pay bills online with Union Bank Online Banking and Online Bill Pay service. If you currently use online banking at , your Sign-On ID at is likely to stay the same

On January 23, 2011, you will receive a temporary password via email.You will need this to log on for the first time to create a new permanent password and to accept the Online Banking Agreement. Once you log on, please review your account information to ensure that the transferred account information is accurate.

Q What will happen to the payments and payees that I entered into Tamalpais Bank's online bill pay service?

A For your convenience, all payees and scheduled/recurring payments you have set up through online bill pay at will be automatically transferred to your new Union Bank Online Bill Pay service. Any payments you have scheduled after January 28, 2011, will be paid through this new service. Payments scheduled through Tamalpais Bank online bill pay for payment through January 28, 2011, will be paid through Tamalpais Bank online bill pay. On January 24, 2011, please log on to make sure that the transferred information is accurate.The automatic transfer of scheduled/recurring payments will proceed whether or not you log on to your account. However, the payment history for transactions made prior to January 24, 2011, will not transfer to Union Bank.This information will only be available through until January 21, 2011. We advise you to print or download your transaction and bill pay history prior to this date for your records. Q What will happen to scheduled or recurring transfers I have set up between my Tamalpais Bank accounts?

A All scheduled/recurring transfers you have set up between your Tamalpais Bank accounts will be transferred to your Union Bank Online Banking service. Please log on to make sure that the transferred information is accurate.

Electronic transactions

Q What will happen with direct deposits, payments, or transfers linked to my Tamalpais Bank account?

A Electronic transactions (such as internal automatic transfers between your accounts, and recurring automatic payments, such as rent, direct deposit of payroll, and Social Security checks) will be automatically forwarded to your Union Bank account. While Union Bank will notify all companies you have authorized to debit or credit electronic transactions, some may also require you to sign a new agreement or authorization containing the Union Bank routing number: 122000496. If any of your regularly scheduled transactions do not post to your account, be sure to contact those businesses directly.

Q Do I need to take any action regarding my incoming recurring wires?

A Y es. If you have incoming recurring wires established on your account, you will need to notify the organization or the individual of the Union Bank routing number: 122000496. Please note, recurring incoming wires will continue to post to your account through April 30, 2011. After that time, any incoming wires without your Union Bank account number and/or routing number may not be accepted.

Additional Accounts and Services

Q What will happen to my overdraft protection?

A If you had a Tamalpais Bank Consumer Overdraft Line of Credit, you will have the option to convert to a Union Bank Cash Reserve Account.3 (If you have this option, you should already have been notified in a previous mailing. If you haven't, please contact your local banking office.) If you have Tamalpais Bank savings overdraft protection, in most cases it will automatically convert to a Union Bank Savings Overdraft Protection Plan.

Q Which accounts can I use for a Union Bank Savings Overdraft Protection Plan?

A Y ou may use a Regular Savings or Teen Savings account (if there is an adult owner on the account) to provide coverage to a checking account. At this time, MoneyMarket Accounts and Kidz Savings accounts are not eligible. Additionally, you may have only one savings account linked to one checking account for this service.

Q What will happen to my savings overdraft protection if it is linked to an account converting to a MoneyMarket, Kidz Savings, or to multiple checking accounts?

A If your overdraft protection is linked to an ineligible account, it will discontinue after conversion. If you have more than one checking account linked to a savings account for coverage, you should have received a letter asking you to select the account that you wish to retain the service for. If we did not hear from you we will retain the service only for the checking account with the most activity.

Q What if I have a Tamalpais Bank loan, line of credit, IRA, or business account?

A If you have any of these products, you will receive a separate mailing from Union Bank.

Q What will happen to my safe deposit box?

A Your safe deposit box will remain in the same location. The annual rental fee for the first renewal will be discounted 50%. Box size and availability may vary by banking office. The full Union Bank rental fee will be invoiced after the first discounted renewal year.
