_The average pay for full time employees was $13 an hour.

2. In addition to the pay increase and bonus the Republican tax reform enabled Walmart to provide adoption expense to employees. Employees must be full time or salaried to receive this benefit.

3. The company is also providing more coverage for maternity leave. Full-time hourly workers in the United States will get 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and six weeks of paid parental leave._______________________________________________________________________________

The story is important because Walmart employees have been protesting and complaining about low wages and lack of benefits for years.

I stopped shopping at Walmart years ago because I did not like how the company treat their employees. The article is connected to information we discussed in class about how our government governs organizations. According to Walmart, they are able to provide these incentives to employees due to tax reform.
