This is an amazing take home book, filled with skits, music and other fun activities. One side is K-2 and the other is 3-5.

Martin, M. J. (2003). Emancipation proclamation: Hope of freedom for the slaves.

Mankota, MN: Capstone Books.

This book shares Lincoln's Proclamation and its effects on the African Americans. It also includes information about the Missouri Compromise, slavery and the civil war. Complete with a timeline, glossary, index, internet site and even places of interest to visit.

House.

This book opens with a page with all of the United States Presidents’ signatures. The following has a brief Biography of all the presidents (including pictures) and then discusses the election process in detail, in a student friendly way.

Company.

This book is very old, but the pictures are very colorful and interesting. It would be a great book to read while the children look at the pictures. It provides wealth of information on Abraham Lincoln in an interesting way.
