ACCESS CONTROL PROCEDURES

Government security requirements and export regulations require NASSCO to enforce strict access control procedures for all employees and visitors to our facility. All visitors to NASSCO’s facilities including customers, contractors, suppliers, vendors, and temporary employees must comply with the following procedures:

I. Each visiting organization or individual must submit to NASSCO's Security Office a visit letter on their company letterhead prior to arrival. The visit letter must specify the purpose of the visit, identify the contract you are working on, the duration of the requested visit, and the appropriate contact person at NASSCO. In addition, the letter shall include the following information on each employee:

A. Name - Last, First, Middle

B. Social Security Number

C. Employee's Job Title

D. Date of Birth

E. Place of Birth - must include city, and state or country.

F. Citizenship

• If employee is a Naturalized U.S. citizen, the document number must be included;

• If the employee is a non-U.S. citizen, the country of citizenship must be listed with an indication of temporary or permanent alien status. The alien registration number must also be included.

II. Each company is required to verify the citizenship status of their employees. Foreign Nationals claiming to be permanent residents of the United States must be verified by sighting the Permanent Resident Card, form I-551. Employees claiming to be U. S. citizens must be verified by sighting one of the acceptable documents (ref. NISPOM paragraph 2-207) indicated below:

A. Birth Certificate. Birth certificates must contain the raised, impressed, or multicolor seal of the registrar's office. All documents submitted as evidence of birth in the U.S. shall be original or certified documents.

B. Certificate of Naturalization

C. If citizenship was acquired by birth abroad to a U.S. citizen parent or parents, the following is acceptable evidence:

(1) A Certificate of Citizenship issued by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS); or

(2) A Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America (form FS-240); or

(3) A Certificate of Birth (Form FS-545 or DS-1350).

D. A U.S. Passport (current or expired)

E. A Record of Military Processing - Armed Forces of the United States (DD Form 1966), provided it reflects U.S. citizenship.

III. Visit letters must be signed by a company representative and forwarded to the attention of NASSCO’s Security Department at the following address:

Visit letters may also be faxed to (619) 544-8599.

IV. NASSCO’s Safety Department requires a brief orientation prior to the start of any work. Safety orientations are given Monday through Friday at 7:30 AM. Advanced arrangements should be made for arrivals outside of these days and time. The safety orientation typically lasts about 20 minutes and must be attended by a representative from each organization.
