Our youth ministry has attended this event over the last several years and we open it up to families, friends, and anyone interested in great Christian artists performing on huge stages and riding all kind of rides in an amazing theme park! Rock the Universe is for the young and old and is a great way for our folks to fellowship, listen to their favorite Christian bands or get hear them for the first time, and have an amazing experience with friends and family at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Below is everything you’ll need to know to go!! COST: This trip will cost $230.00 and includes: a 2 Day Park Pass to BOTH Universal and Islands of Adventure theme parks, lodging, breakfast and evening ice cream socials, and transportation. ???????????????? A Non-refundable deposit of $75.00 ?is due to secure your spot and this will go towards your final payment.? After August 31 the price goes up to $250.00.? ?We are looking to leave Thursday September 8th.? We will meet up at the church at 12:30pm (this will count as a full day of school by this time) and will leave by 1pm.? Make sure to bring a bag lunch or have already eaten lunch.? You can bring snacks to share! The following is NOT covered and you will be responsible for paying for the following:? Dinner Thursday’s trip down, lunch and dinner for Friday and Saturday at the theme park, and lunch and dinner on the way home Sunday September 11th and whatever souvenir money you want to bring or money for lots of butterbeer!? You can invite friends but remember they must fill out our medical and liability release form and have it notarized.? This form is available on our youth web page at in our youth link!? ALL youth must have a “Parent” that they will report to while on this trip.? These will be adults that youth check in with and the adults will supervise while on the trip and inside the park.? We rent a large house or homes that we cram everyone into each year. We ensure that genders are separated. Adults get beds and we ask that youth bring sleeping bags and pillows for the couches or the floor once beds run out. Most will have access to either a bed or a couch, however. DISCLAIMER: Everyone agrees that if any part of the home gets damaged they will be held liable for restitution of damages. Long’s Chapel is not responsible for lost or damaged or stolen items while on this trip so please ensure discretion is used at all times! The house is furnished with sheets and bedding as well as towels and wash clothes. However, it is recommended that everyone bring their own towels and wash clothes. The house will have a small in-ground pool. Everyone is asked to take quick showers and bathroom preparation is prohibited. In other words, fixing hair, make up, etc should be done in front of mirrors outside the bathroom, please ADULTSWe are a Safe Sanctuary compliant church and each adult (anyone 18 years of age and older) must consent to fill out a background check form that will be kept on file. If you have not done this already you may pick up the form from the church office and return it there to be processed. FORMSAll youth and children attending must fill out the Medical and Liability Release form and have this form notarized before attending this trip. The form can be picked up from the youth leader’s office during office hours or can be downloaded online at on our youth page! This form only needs to be filled out once and can be used towards future trips. Remember, it must be notarized please WHAT TO BRING: Pillow for the trip and a sleeping bagTowels for the pool as well as showeringToiletries: deo, toothbrush/paste, soap, shampoo (travel size please), etc. Shorts, T shirts, underwear, socks for 3 daysComfortable shoes!!! You will be walking.. A LOT. And you will want something comfortable on your feet ALL DAY. Remember, you’ll be on your feet two full days so think through this one. Flip flops might not be the best choice considering the many of the rides Bathing suit for pool at the house.-46101010795Sunscreen and lots of it. Small backpacks to carry money, water bottles, souvenirs, etc. Sunglasses. Rain jacket or poncho or very small umbrella. Pajamas, clothes to change into for sleeping.Cell phone and charger. Here’s a trip you can actually bring your phone! Take pictures and stay in contact with our group! A few helpful reminders: 1. Lockers are available at the park for free and many of the rides mandate that you use them if you have any bags or are carrying stuff you’ve bought. 2. DO NOT BRING: A bad attitude or drama. These can be left home. Also, don’t bring things like guns, knives, drugs, alcohol, adult only content, fireworks, etc. If you have a question about something just ask Shawn. 3. We reserve the right to send anyone home who becomes defiant or hurtful to the group and will not comply with the overall rules of the group. This will be done with a Greyhound bus ticket or a parent coming to pick up their kid. We’ve never had to do this but will take these measures if needed. 4. We are available to help with dispensing any medications that your child will be taking while on this trip. Please let us know how we can help and please make us aware if your child will be bringing medications, thank you! 5. All youth and adults will be placed into groups that will stay together while in the parks and will have assigned places to check in and meet up after each day ends. 6.
