ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

o Complete application, available at nl.edu/applyonline oOfficial transcripts from all institutions where you registered and/or attended. In order to be considered official, transcripts must

arrive in envelopes sealed by the issuing institution. Official e-transcripts are acceptable and must be sent directly from the issuing institution to admissions@nl.edu o A pplicants with less than 10 semester hours of transferable college credit must submit an official high school transcript, sealed in

the original envelope with graduation date posted o O fficial military transcripts, military certificates (including Army, Navy, Marine Joint Services or CCAS-Air Force transcripts),

nationally recognized certificates and CLEP/DANTES test scores may also be submitted for evaluation o International Students

o P roof of English language proficiency is required if English is not the applicant's native language and/or high school degree was earned outside of the United States. Please submit official scores from one of the University-approved examinations listed at nl.edu/elp

o F oreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated by one of the approved agencies listed at: nl.edu/foreigncredential

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

National College of Education oJuniors seeking admission into a National College of Education licensure program must register for the Test of Academic Proficiency

(TAP). For details on the TAP or ISBE approved alternative visit nl.edu/ILTAP.

FINANCIAL AID (OPTIONAL)

o Fill out FAFSA form (school code 001733) o Paper application takes 4?6 weeks to process o Online (fafsa.) application takes 2?3 weeks to process o The financial aid year is July 1?June 30. You MUST complete a new application for each year you wish to be eligible for aid o Students must be fully admitted to be eligible for financial aid

Additional requirements may be necessary. Also, specific programs may have additional requirements prior to registration. The decision to deny admission cannot be appealed. Please contact your NLU Enrollment Specialist for complete details.
