GPA CALCULATION

GPA is computed using quality points. Beginning with grade 9, all subjects, whether

passed or failed, are included in the computation.

A minimum of 24 credits is required for gradua-

tion; however, students can earn up to 28 credits, which allows them to achieve higher GPA calculations that exceed both State and District requirements.

AP and Dual Enrollment courses are weighed by

two extra points, (highest possible GPA in such courses is 6.0) and Honors classes are weighted by one extra point (highest possible grade in Honors courses is 5.0).

Grades are recorded on the official transcript and

GPA is computed twice during the academic year; first in January and then in June, for final grades.
