Anchor/Bookmark Creation Tutorial

Anchor/Bookmark Creation Tutorial

An "anchor" or "bookmark" is a link that simply links to another location in a web page. These are commonly used to link to a section of information that is located further down the page as well as in the "Back to Top" links which send users back to the top of a page. This is commonly found in FAQ sections.

To create an anchor you should do the following:

1. Create the location of the anchor by highlighting some text and selecting the MOSSLINKMANAGER Icon as seen below

2. In the next dialog window that pops up, you should type the name of your anchor/bookmark in the field at the bottom as seen below. For this example I used "West" as my anchor name

3. Click "OK" ? The anchor has been created even though there is no visible sign that anything happened. This is because the anchor location resides in the code of the page

4. Now scroll up the page to the link location. We will create the link that sends the visitor to the location of the anchor.

5. Select some text and click the MOSSLINKMANAGER Icon again as seen in the below screenshot

6. After clicking the MOSSLINKMANAGER simply type in the # key + the anchor name. For our example it will look like this

7. Click OK The anchor and link to the anchor have been successfully created.
