Boston College is located in the Chestnut Hill section of Newton, Massachusetts. The campus is approximately six miles west of the city of Boston.

Directions to Boston College

If you are using a GPS to get to Commencement use the following arrival points: ? Main Campus - 28 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 ? Newton Campus Parking - 825 Centre Street, Newton, MA 02458 ? Brighton Campus Parking - 2121 Commonwealth Avenue, Brighton, MA 02135 ? Travel to the University on Commencement morning is extremely slow because of heavy traffic. Ample time should be allowed to reach the Campus, especially from the Massachusetts Turnpike at Newton (Exit 17).

Public transportation: The Boston College branch of the MBTA's "Green Line" (B) ends at the Boston-Newton boundary on Commonwealth Avenue. Cross the street and walk by St. Ignatius Church and follow the perimeter road around to campus entrances.

Parking

For the Baccalaureate mass on sunday: Guests of the graduates will have the entire parking area on Lower Campus, including both garages.

From points west: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) to Exit 17. (See Approach Map). ? Option A - (See Approach Map) At the first set of lights after the exit ramp, take a

right onto Centre Street. Follow Centre Street to the fourth set of lights, and turn left onto Commonwealth Avenue. Follow Commonwealth Avenue 1.5 miles to Boston College. ? Option B - (See Approach Map) At the third set of lights (all close together) after the exit ramp, take a right onto Park Street and the next left onto Tremont Street. At the second set of lights, bear right onto Washington Street. At the second set of lights on Washington Street, take a right onto Foster Street to the satellite parking site at St. John's Seminary. (See Alternative Parking)

Travel Advisory: Option A traffic is heavier and slower than Option B traffic.

For Commencement: The Beacon Street Garage and the parking area at the north (Rec Plex) end of Conte Forum and Alumni Stadium are reserved. Beacon Street Garage permits are orange. Permits for the area between the Rec Plex and Conte Forum are pink. On the Brighton Campus, the Library Lot is reserved for guests of the School of Theology and Ministry and permits are white. Vendor passes are green. All other campus parking is available for families and guests of graduates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Satellite parking and shuttles: Due to the very large number of people attending the University Commencement, there will be a shortage of parking on campus. Once all campus lots are full, satellite parking is available on the Brighton campus and the Newton Campus, and shuttle bus service to campus is provided. Shuttle transportation will be provided from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to and from satellite parking sites.

? Option C - (See Approach Map) Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) to Exit 14. Take Interstate 95S (Route 128 South) to Exit 21A (Route 16), bear right off Route 16 (.2 miles) onto Beacon Street (Waban-Newton Centre), follow Beacon Street to Hammond Pond Parkway and continue on Beacon Street to Boston College (4.8 miles).

From points north and south: Take Interstate 95 (Route 128) to Exit 24 (Route 30). Proceed east on Route 30, also known as Commonwealth Avenue, and follow for about six miles to Boston College.

Handicapped parking: Any graduate whose parents or other guests are disabled may access reserved parking in the Beacon Street garage. Eligible persons include those with a state issued handicapped license plate or handicapped placard. The license plate must be on the vehicle or the placard displayed from the rearview mirror and easily visible to the parking attendants when approaching campus and while parking on campus. Guests should enter the garage through the Beacon Street entrance. Once parked, hosts and golf carts will be available to assist with transport to the Stadium. No special Boston College permit is needed. Guests should have the placard or license plate easily visible for the attendants.

From downtown boston: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) to Exit 17. Take a left over the bridge after passing the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Take the first right onto Centre Street. Follow above directions from Centre Street.

From Logan Airport: Take the Ted Williams Tunnel to the Massachusetts Turnpike West and continue to Exit 17. Then follow same directions as from Downtown Boston.
