Students enrolled in CSU’s International Studies Certificate program are required to complete a study abroad program, or some other appropriate experiential learning activity. CSU offers a wide range of engaging study abroad courses, many of which fulfill general education requirements. Generous study abroad grants and scholarships are available to all students. The International Studies Certificate allows students to integrate study abroad more fully into their education. opportunity for students to integrate study abroad more fully into their education.

The International Studies Certificate is a supplemental certificate for students already pursuing a bachelor’s degree at CSU. It affords students the opportunity to expand their international experience and cross-cultural knowledge by integrating coursework throughout the curriculum—from general education courses to the research capstone within the student’s major. Students who pursue the International Studies Certificate will leave CSU better prepared for a globalized world.

|3 |INTS 2105: Introduction to |INTS 2105 introduces students to theory and practice of international studies, |

| |International Studies and |globalization and cross-cultural learning. Must be completed before the student has|

|3-6 |International Learning Community (ILC) |At least 3 credits must be an ILC course at the 1000 or 2000 level; any lower level |

|3-6 |Internationally-focused upper level |These may be ILC or non-ILC courses if the latter has significant international |

| |classes |content, and may or may not be in the student’s major. Each non-ILC course must be |

| |(3000-5000) |chosen from a pre-approved list or approved by the ISC Coordinator. ISC students |

| |OR |may opt to transform one non-internationally focused upper level course into an ISC |
