ABOLITIONIST LAW CENTER, Pittsburgh, PA, June 2017-June 2018 Staff Attorney. Litigate individual and class action suits in federal court to improve prison conditions and end the harmful practice known as solitary confinement in Pennsylvania state prisons. Engage in public and administrative advocacy around issues relating to ending solitary confinement, ensuring equal access for prisoners with disabilities, and challenging mass incarceration.

ACLU NATIONAL PRISON PROJECT, Washington, D.C., October 2015-June 2017 Arthur Liman Public Interest Law Fellow. Drafted notices of non-compliance, conducted prison tours, and reviewed use of force videos in the course of settlement monitoring and enforcement for statewide class action lawsuit on behalf of prisoners in Arizona state prisons. Led research and advocacy efforts aimed at building awareness of the challenges facing incarcerated persons with physical disabilities. Provided legal and technical support to ACLU affiliates and other organizations on issues related to solitary confinement in American prisons and jails, including drafting model policies, and crafting language for state and federal legislation. Researched challenges facing prisoners with physical disabilities held in solitary confinement. Conducted legal research on issues related to state contract law, and legal claims brought pursuant to the Eighth

Amendment and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Engaged in public education outreach and policy advocacy around ending solitary confinement.

THE UNIVERSITY OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE, Washington, D.C., August 2015-May 2017 Adjunct Faculty Member, Department of Liberal Studies. Designed course curriculum for introductory course in Sociology and Social Science. Lectured on key concepts and theories using a variety of pedagogical methods, including interactive multimedia, participatory classroom discussions, small group activities, and simulations.

DETENTION & HUMAN RIGHTS CLINIC, Yale Law School, 2011-13 Law Student Intern. Engaged in administrative advocacy, report-writing, and investigative work on behalf of prisoners in solitary confinement in Connecticut's maximum-security prison.

CRIMINAL DEFENSE CLINIC, Yale Law School, 2010-13 Law Student Intern. Worked under the supervision of Connecticut public defenders to provide representation in state court bail hearings.

Produced memos on legal issues related to reasonable accommodations, excessive force, pay discrimination, defamation, and federal RICO. Contributed to the drafting of complaints for filing in federal court.

Performed legal research and analysis on a variety of civil liberties and civil rights issues, including cases involving racial discrimination, police misconduct, unconstitutional conditions of confinement, and freedom of speech.

AFRICAN AMERICAN POLICY FORUM (AAPF), New York, NY, June 2009-10 Associate Director; Research Assistant to Professor Kimberl? W. Crenshaw. Conducted research, assembled literature review, and drafted memos related to critical race theory, as well as current issues in structural racism, affirmative action, equal opportunity, and education equity. Organized and coordinated workshops and conferences focused on social justice advocacy and raising awareness of structural racism and gender-based discrimination.
