Students should contact the member institution to keep informed of changes, as final responsibility for verifying information rests with the student.

TRANSFER OPTIONS

Completed AA Degree: CLC student will be evaluated to have met all lower division general education requirements at UIS and receive junior status. Individual majors may have additional prerequisites and/or requirements that are not covered by this agreement.

Completed AS degree (Beginning Fall 2016): CLC students have the option to complete the GECC after transfer or complete UIS's general education requirements. Students should check with a UIS advisor to determine the best option.

IAI GECC: Completing only the IAI General Education Core at CLC (no AA/AS) will be evaluated by UIS as completing the lower division general education requirements. Individual majors may have additional prerequisites and/or requirements that are not covered by this agreement.

Completing some courses at CLC: If transferring prior to completing the IAI General Education Core at CLC, students will follow UIS's general education requirements to meet the general education component of the baccalaureate degree. (Students who have earned 30 hours of transferable credit to UIS and are IAI eligible may have the option to complete the GECC after transfer, instead of UIS's general education requirements. Students should check with a UIS advisor to determine the best option.)

TRANSFER CREDITS

The maximum number of semester hours transferable from a community college is 72 (Business Majors maximum is 66). However, typically no more than 60 will be applied toward a degree. To meet graduation requirements, the transfer student must earn at least 30 semester hours at UIS. `D' grades are accepted with the exception of English Composition I and II, general education math courses and program prerequisites.

Course equivalencies can be viewed using the Transferology website:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

30 semester hours with a 2.0 GPA.

Students with less than 30 hours must meet freshman admission requirements and submit ACT or SAT scores and an official high school transcript. Transfer students must have a minimum of 12 semester hours complete at time of entry.

Special requirements such as a higher GPA and separate application exist for those seeking direct entry into certain majors. Consult the UIS Transfer Guide for CLC.
