About University of Wyoming (UW)

The University of Wyoming is the state's only provider of baccalaureate and graduate education, research, and outreach services.

UW combines major-university benefits and small-school advantages, with more than 180 programs of study, an outstanding faculty, and world-class research facilities all set against the idyllic backdrop of southeastern Wyoming's rugged mountains and high plains.

The main campus is located in Laramie, approximately two hours north of Denver. The university also maintains the UW/Casper College Center; nine outreach education centers across Wyoming, and Cooperative Extension Service centers in each of the state's 23 counties and on the Wind River Indian Reservation.

KIMEP Exchange Students should pay tuition fee min for 4courses to KIMEP prior to departure!

Accommodation Fee

Dormitory: about USD 1, 566 per semester (standard double room), 1 bedroom apartment (about USD 500 per month).

Estimated Living Costs per semester

• Room + Meals: USD 4 000 – 4 500

• Transportation (local): US 300 dollars

• Miscellaneous: around USD 1000

Other Expenses

• Visa - about USD 130 and insurance – about USD 300-500 per semester:

• Round ticket: about USD 1800

Total: about US 7, 500 dollars plus personal expenses.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

I. KIMEP Application Procedure:

In order to apply for the exchange program to the UW, please ensure that you satisfy the requirements of the program and submit necessary completed documents to the International Relations Office in KIMEP:

• Good English skills

• GPA 3.0 and above

• Student Activity

• At least one full year of undergraduate or one full semester of graduate study at KIMEP (with KIMEP background from entering the Master program)

Documents:

• Completed KIMEP’s Application Form (download it from our website at www2.kimep.kz/international - KIMEP students - How to Apply)

• A recommendation letter from a KIMEP faculty member

• A copy of your unofficial transcript

• Completed Course Pre-Approval Form; choose the courses you’d like to take at Krems website and discuss it with the Course Instructor/Advisor (you can submit this form when you are nominated for the program)

Application deadlines:

Fall Semester: March 5

Spring semester: September 5
