PRE-PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS FOR

FALL / SPRING 2021 - 2022

The PPAC will be hosting a variety of workshops for all UNLV students to aid in

exploration of health careers, applying to professional schools and personal statements.

Workshop: Intro to Pre-Health and Professional School

Interested in a health career but not sure where to start? Come to the Intro to

Pre-Health workshop to find out more about careers in, and applying to, medical,

dental, optometry, veterinary and more! There will be time for a Q & A session after the

completion of each workshop.

Workshop: The Year Before Applying: What Do I Do?

Are you approximately 1 to 1 1/2 years from applying to professional school? This workshop will

provide important information regarding metrics, experiences and attributes necessary to be a

competitive applicant and what to be working on the year prior to application. Important dates,

timelines, personal statement tips and letters of recommendation advice will also be presented!

Workshop: Personal Statements

This workshop will provide guidance, advice and tips on writing an effective personal statement

Workshop: Personal Statement Brainstorming Sessions

Starting your personal statement for professional school? Come brainstorm ideas with an advisor.

20 minute virtual appointment. Space is limited.

Workshop: Completing Your Professional School Application

Are you applying for professional school this cycle? This workshop is for you! We will review all the

details of applying, including tips and information on filling out the application, uploading letters of

recommendation, how to fill out your experiences and uploading your personal statement.

Workshop: Pre Health Experiences

Tips and tricks for getting involved in extracurricular activities, and why having experience is
