Tennessee Odyssey of the Mind | Exploding With Creativity

Coming Attractions(When the team enters the room, tell them this is a verbal hands-on problem)This is a two-part problem. In part 1, you will have 7 minutes to come up with your solution and practice. In part 2, you will have 4 minutes to present your solutions to the judges. You may ask questions at any time after I finish reading this problem, but time will continue. Your problem is two create two movie trailers for two different types of team created movies. You must portray the plot of the film in your trailer so that the judges will know what the movie is about. There is a list of movie types in front of you; you must pick 2 different types for your trailers. One of the trailers will have team-created dialogue. The other will have no dialogue, but the team will create background music for their trailer using the provided items. Score will be as followsCreativity of trailer 1 1-20Creativity of trailer 1-20How well the team conveys the plot of their films 2 @ 1-15 eachQuality of the dialogue in the trailer with dialogue 1-15Quality of the background music in the other trailer 1-15How creatively the team uses the materials to make background music 1-15For judges onlyThis is a harder problem. It probably works best for division 3 and more experienced division 2 teams. However, I think it’s important for teams of all levels to try harder problems in practice so that they are ready for whatever comes on competition day. Place a list with the following film types: Disney, Musical, Science Fiction, Romantic Comedy, Drama, Family, and Teen. Give teams a variety of items to make sounds with. Use what you have, but make sure you give them enough to make a variety of sounds. ................
